Just a quick reminder of what we do at A Place At Home – The Woodlands and how we help families when care needs change.

Remember, we are a little different because we are two companies in one — we provide in-home care AND senior placement services.

🏡 In-Home Care is great when someone wants to stay at home but needs extra help with things like bathing, meals, medication reminders, transportation, companionship, or safety after a hospital or rehab stay.

🏘️ Senior Placement comes into play when someone is no longer safe living alone at home. We help families explore options like Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Personal Care Homes, based on care needs, budget, and location.

The best part? Families don’t have to navigate this alone. We help walk them through every option so they can make the best decision for their loved one, which means they do not have to make as many calls, I can do most of the work for them!

Stay Active

Gentle, regular physical activity is key to heart health. Aim for 20-30 minutes of movement most days. Low-impact exercises like walking, chair yoga, or water aerobics are fantastic options. Daily tasks like gardening or light stretching also help keep your heart strong.

Senior care is more than just a career for me; it’s a true passion! My journey into this field began several years ago, but the most valuable knowledge I’ve gained has come from my personal experience caring for my mother as my family navigated dementia and other health issues. That experience deepened my understanding of the challenges families face and the kind of care that can truly make a difference.

Through this journey, I saw firsthand how crucial it is to provide not only medical care but also emotional support, empathy, dignity, and respect. I’m driven to offer this same level of care and understanding to the seniors I work with, and to support their families who are going through similar struggles. Sometimes we can see challenges coming, but other times life can change overnight, and having a ‘Plan B’ is so important.

Senior care has allowed me to be a source of comfort, not just for the seniors I serve, but also for their families who often feel overwhelmed. It has taught me how essential it is to treat each individual with patience, kindness, and dignity—values I carry into both my professional and personal life.

This work has helped me grow in ways I never imagined, and I’m honored to be able to support others in such a meaningful way. Senior care isn’t just about providing services; it’s about making a lasting, positive impact in the lives of others, just as it did for my own family.
