NOTICE TO PATIENTS

Dr. Sarah Miller will no longer be practicing at this location as of November 1, 2025. Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim will be taking over the practice and all patient care from that date forward.

Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim is a board-certified Infectious Diseases specialist. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Western Reserve Health in Ohio and fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Michigan State University. He has lived and worked in Texas since 2023.

NIDC offices will be closed next week on Tuesday 12/14 and Wednesday 12/15. Our staff will be in training for our new electronic medical record system on those days. Our phones will be answered those days, but please be patient as non-urgent matters may not be addressed until the end of the day. We are excited to implement our new EMR, which will provide a new interface for telehealth visits, messaging communication between the staff and patients, and an integrated patient portal.

The NIDC offices will be closed today and will re-open next week. Unfortunately, one of our staff members is positive for COVID-19. This staff member developed symptoms on 1/6, which is the last day that she was in the office. We are taking all necessary precautions and quarantining our other staff members at this time. All staff will be tested and allowed to return next week if negative. In the meantime, we will continue to offer telemedicine visits that can be done via telephone or video. Our phones will be staffed during regular business hours. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you soon.

The clinic has received many inquiries about COVID-19 vaccination, so we would like to provide an update here. The Texas State Health Department is currently allocating the available vaccines in phases due to limited supply (see graphic below). Currently, the vaccines are being administered to frontline healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities. The Health Department's estimate is that a round of vaccines will be available for patients at higher risk (age >65 or at least one chronic medical condition) sometime in January 2021. Neudorf Infectious Diseases Clinic is on the registry to receive vaccine doses when they become available. We will be receiving the Moderna vaccine, as we do not have the capability to adequately store the Pfizer vaccine. Information about the Moderna vaccine can be accessed here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/different-vaccines/Moderna.html.

We will continue to provide any updates as they occur.

UPDATE:
We are open! Dr. Miller is seeing a limited number of patients in the office. We are currently offering in-office visits in Montgomery on Thursdays and in Conroe on Fridays. The office is scheduling patients in longer blocks of time to avoid having several patients in the waiting room. The rooms and equipment are thoroughly disinfected after each patient use, as always. Every patient will have a temperature check and answer a questionnaire on arrival to the office. Every patient in the office will be asked to wear a mask throughout the duration of their visit, and all staff will be wearing masks. We continue to offer telemedicine (virtual) visits as well for patient's safety and convenience. These visits are preferred for patients that don't require a physical exam or an in-office service (i.e. visits for lab results, medication refills, or routine follow-up). We are here to serve you. Please call us at 936-539-0090 to schedule an appointment or to ask us any questions.

Beginning Monday, March 23, the clinic will be transitioning to telemedicine appointments for all new and established patients. We will continue using this format until it is deemed safe to resume regular operations. We are planning to use video applications when possible for "face-to-face" visits, but will also be able to conduct some visits over phone. Any patients who come in person to the office will be screened and asked to set up a telemedicine appointment. We are not closing our doors. Our clinic will be fully staffed during our regular business hours. If we determine through our telemedicine visit that you may need an in-office service (IV fluids, antibiotic injection, PICC line care, etc.), we will bring you in to the office. We are here to help you stay healthy and hopefully stay out of the urgent care centers and ERs that are already overwhelmed with patients. Please call the office at 936-539-0090, email us at email@neudorfidclinic.net, or visit https://www.neudorfidclinic.net/contactus to set up an appointment.

A message for our patients regarding the COVID-19 pandemic:

In accordance with recommendations from the CDC and local health department, we are implementing new measures for the safety of our patients and staff. Effective immediately, we are advising patients with non-urgent follow-up appointments to reschedule them for a later date. All patients and visitors arriving to the clinic will be screened at the door before entering. Clinic staff and physicians will be available during regular business hours to see patients for urgent visits and to answer phone calls.

If you are concerned about potential exposure to or illness related to COVID-19, please call the clinic to discuss your concerns. At this time, due to limited testing supplies and shortages in protective equipment for staff, COVID-19 testing is not available at our facility. The local health department is not offering testing currently. Patients with mild symptoms, including fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, are asked to remain at home and monitor symptoms. If you experience severe respiratory symptoms, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide any updates here.
