In a recent session, a child was exploring AAC. It’s only been a few weeks since introducing AAC, and with that, exploration is key! Letting children explore AAC before teaching them how the system works promotes:
🙋🏼ownership & autonomy
💬 authentic communication
🧸natural learning through play
😌 comfort and reduces anxious feelings
Exploration is essential for creating a foundation to teach upon! It’s been a privilege watching this friend explore and communicate 😊

Save the date! October 25th 🎃 Free pumpkin decorating for kids located at Conshohocken United Methodist Church, right across the street from Rosie Speech! You’ll see our friend Avery, one of the young creators, who will be selling beautiful goods! We look forward to this fun day in our community!

We look forward to the Fall into Conshy sidewalk event. Here’s where things are happening. At Conshohocken United Methodist Church at 6th and Fayette they are hosting pumpkin decorating for kids (free)There will also be a couple young creators there including Avery’s Shells & Shine. If you visit Wrapping Papered around 9th and Fayette they will have create your own sensory jars (small fee). At Coll’s Custom Framing there is a Bruce Springsteen exhibit featuring a DJ. Outside of Our Daily Bagel will be a young creator with her handmade wreaths. Look for ABEADZA outside of Izenberg’s. Local authors will be out front of the Library. There are always creators at The Artist’s Loft (east 5th Ave). Get to know Maura Matthews fine arts in front of XTRA. Planter Memes will be in front of Thirteen Circles and check out Emerald & Ivy at First and Fayette. Hopefully more artists and creators join us that day (look for updates soon)

Today was FUN! At the 2025 Conshy Funfest we connected with our community and chatted with clients from the past, present, + future! Huge thanks to our crew who helped out today! Our raffle basket winner will be announced tomorrow! 🌹💬

Small phrase, HUGE win! 🙌🏻
For so long, this common phrase has been a challenge to say in many different settings. Recently, one of our teen clients said it fluently outside of the speech room, in a real-life scenario, and it was said with a big smile. Moments like this remind us: progress is powerful! 🌹💬

Want to know a parent/caregiver question we’ve been getting lately, especially now that it’s summer?

❓Q: Is it ok if sibling joins the speech session today?
❗️A: YES!

Siblings are built-in communication partners. They provide natural, familiar interaction opportunities. Siblings help support and reinforce communication at home. They’re mini SLPs, I tell ya!

An increase of empathy and understanding, along with shared participation, are just a few of the benefits that the family unit reaps in our sessions together.

We thoughtfully set the boundary that we are here for said sibling, of course. It’s a win, win. 🌹💬

We had the BEST time this past weekend at our Rosie Speech Family Connection Community Event partnered with Conshy United. Thank you so much to all of the families who came out. We had five interactive stations with sun and fun as the theme. Parents and caregivers learned speech, language, and OT tips and tricks to use all summer long. It was such a special day! See you at the next one! ☀️🌹💬
