KIDS EAT FOR FREE AT CHEESE LOUISE UNTIL SNAP BENEFITS ARE RESTORED

we're not here to take sides or make this offer political, we simply believe that no child should go hungry. starting November 5th, any child from a family in need will receive a free vermonter (classic grilled cheese sandwich with potato chips) until SNAP benefits are restored.

dine-in only, one Vermonter per child per day. no purchase necessary, no questions asked ❤️

We were honored to give a tour of White Mountain Community Health Center today and discuss how the potential loss of enhanced ACA subsidies and other coming health coverage changes will affect our patients and the health of our community.

If you have a story you’d like to share about how the changes in health coverage affect you, please reach out to us! Senator Hassan emphasized that personal stories help decision makers understand the effects policies have on real people and can move things in the right direction.

I'm writing as a Co-Chair of the Community Food Center--Tamworth & Sandwich (CFC). I will actually have more helpful information tomorrow after the NH Food Bank releases its plans for mobile food pantries around the state.

CFC's plans in the short term

We will be at St Andrew's-in-the-Valley on Wed, Nov 5 and Nov 19 from 11 am till 3 pm and from 4:30 till 6 pm. We welcome our usual clients, of course, and anyone in need for whatever reason. We will have extra volunteers on hand. (St Andrew's is at 678 Whittier Rd, Tamworth, NH 03886).

The most helpful donations for us are by cash or check, as we are not regularly on hand to accept grocery items and we do not wish to add this duty to the wonderful St Andrew's staff who welcome our mission so warmly. Our mailing address is PO Box 141, Tamworth 03886). Many of you have already been generous---the spirit of this community is one of deep caring for one another, and it comes through.

Our phone number is 603-960-4067.

Mobile Food Pantries from NH Food Bank

We expect to learn the dates, times and locations for these tomorrow. NHFB leaders are planning many mobile pantries which will serve individuals who have a SNAP EBT card or a letter to confirm SNAP participation. They have assured us that they will occur throughout the state. In the past the closest ones to us have happened at the Ham Center in Conway and at St Joseph's Church at 23 Moultonville Rd, Center Ossipee

A mobile food pantry usually lasts for about 4 hours. You drive through the parking lot area in your vehicle, tell the volunteer where you live so they can know who is being served, but a specific residency is not a requirement (and in this case, I imagine you'll also be asked to show evidence of SNAP enrollment). We have been told that a SNAP person who cannot attend can write a note that allows someone else to pick up for them. Typically, each person receives 2 boxes--one contains non-perishable items and the other will have perishable foods.

We will certainly share more information as we receive it.

Our thanks go out to everyone in the communities we serve.

Maureen Diamond, Co-Chair, Community Food Center--Tamworth & Sandwich

Please read! We’re expecting a lot to change in the coming days for folks who use SNAP to feed themselves and their families. We know the FREEdge has been an asset to many people - including folks who don’t use SNAP.

With the close of our market season, we’ve continued to work with local farms to stock the FREEdge. We’re working on a plan to continue this important resource to our community throughout the year. We’ll update when we have a restock (usually later in the week/not Tuesdays). As of Noon on October 27, the FREEdge is stocked with greens, cauliflower, carrots, squash, etc.

If you want to help: you can make a donation to directly support the FREEdge at the link in our bio or at www.mwvfarmersmarket.com/freedge. We are a 501c3 and your donations are tax exempt. We’ll put your dollars to work.

If you need help: the FREEdge has a resource list posted from the Carroll County Food Access Network ( ). And, you can find resources at nhfoodbank.org/find-food ( )

If the FREEge has helped you and you want to share your story, please send us a note! ❤️
