📢 EHV Biosecurity Update
With the recent concern surrounding Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) outbreaks, it is important to understand how easily this virus can spread between horses and facilities. EHV can be transmitted through direct horse-to-horse contact, contaminated equipment, clothing, hands, and even shared air space in some circumstances.
To reduce the risk of transmission and protect the health of every horse I serve, I am implementing enhanced biosecurity precautions:
🔹 I will be scheduling only ONE barn at a time
🔹 No overlapping facilities or multiple barns in a single day
🔹 Thorough disinfection of equipment, footwear, and hands between locations
🔹 Clean clothing protocols for each facility visit
These measures help prevent cross-contamination and support responsible herd health management during periods of increased risk.
While these steps may slightly adjust scheduling availability, they are necessary to ensure we are doing our part to keep Arkansas horses safe and healthy.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued trust as we prioritize proactive prevention and equine wellness.
If you have any questions about EHV or my biosecurity protocols, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
