Bipolar disorder is a treatable mental health condition marked by extreme changes in mood, thought, energy, and behavior. These changes in mood, or “mood swings,” can last for hours, days, weeks, or months.

Bipolar disorder affects approximately 5.7 million adult Americans, or about 2.6% of the U.S. population age 18 and older, every year. (National Institute of Mental Health)

Sometimes life scatters us. Stress, grief, transitions, pressure pieces everywhere. At CAPS, we don’t pretend the pieces were never dropped. We sit with you in the mess, help you breathe through it, and guide you as you gently gather yourself again.

Because healing isn’t about “fixing.”
It’s about remembering who you are, reclaiming what you need, and rebuilding at your own pace.

One piece at a time.
One conversation at a time.
One brave step at a time.

You don’t have to do it alone. 💛

Sometimes you just want to hear “same.” Not a lecture. Not a textbook answer. Just real stories, real advice, and real students figuring life out the same way you are. CCU offers you access to TimelyCare’s Peer Community — an anonymous, judgment-
free space where you can connect with other students who are facing the same kinds of situations you are.

Download the TimelyCare app or visit timelycare.com for 24/7 access to care, resources,

Here is a typical day in the life of the Director of CAPS. We are grateful for the work we do everyday from collaborating with campus partners on mental health initiatives, seeing clients, middle of day exercise with EXSS 415, completing paperwork, supervising interns and finding moments of mindfulness in between the hustle. As we wrap up the semester, we remember “joy is not in things; it is in us” (Richard Wagner).

Time to reset and recharge as we head home and reconnect with friends and family 💙. Join Marguerite as she reminds us that a few deep breaths can calm the central nervous system, helping us feel centered and ready to embrace the season ahead. 🌬️✨

🏡 Back home for break? Here’s how to make it smoother for you and your family:

1️⃣ Set Boundaries Early Talk about your schedule—study time, social time, rest. Respect theirs too.

2️⃣ Share Responsibilities Help with chores or errands. It shows appreciation and keeps harmony.

3️⃣ Quality Time Matters Plan a movie night, cook together, or go for a walk. Small moments count.

4️⃣ Communicate Openly If something feels off, speak up kindly. Misunderstandings shrink when you talk.

5️⃣ Balance Independence & Togetherness Enjoy your freedom, but remember family time is precious too.

💡 Remember: home is your recharge zone, not just a pit stop.

This season isn’t just about sharing food - it’s about sharing support, kindness, and community.
On Friendsgiving night, we’ll gather around the table not only with our favorite dishes, but with the reminder that we’re stronger together. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, lending a hand, or simply showing up, every act of care helps build the Chanticleer family we’re proud of. 🦃
Bring your favorite dish and your spirit of generosity. Let’s celebrate the ways we can uplift one another - because community is built one plate, one laugh, and one act of support at a time.
📍 Coastal Carolina University HTC LaForce Suite 📅 Wednesday November 19 / 5:30p- 8p 🍴 Potluck style—share what you love!

Ubuntu is an ancient African philosophy meaning “humanity toward others.” It reflects the belief that “I am who I am because of who we all are.” The purpose of this organization is to foster a sense of belonging and connection among students, helping them feel part of something greater than themselves. Members meet biweekly to engage in activities that promote personal growth and community through creative expressions of physical, emotional, and social well-being. Our mission is to cultivate a warm, supportive community where everyone can thrive and feel their best.

A simple “Hey, remember when…” can go a long way.

Reaching out to old classmates isn’t just about reminiscing - it’s about reigniting a sense of belonging. Those shared moments, inside jokes, and late-night study sessions built more than memories - they built community.

📸 Reconnect over a throwback photo.
📞 Send that message you’ve been meaning to.
🤝 Rekindle the bonds that shaped your journey.

You’re still part of something bigger. And sometimes, all it takes is one conversation to feel it again.
