Conway is about to wake up in its frozen era and this is not the kind of cold we are used to 🥶

With temperatures dropping below freezing overnight, it is time to get homes, people, and pets ready. Turn on your heat and keep it set to a safe, steady temperature. Space heaters should have plenty of room around them and never be left on while sleeping. Fireplaces and candles need to be watched closely and never used as a primary heat source.

🏠For your home, let faucets drip to help protect pipes and open cabinet doors to allow warm air to circulate. Check smoke alarms before heading to bed because heating equipment is a leading cause of house fires during cold weather.

🧑👧For people, bundle up like you are heading to a chilly night at the Riverwalk and check on neighbors who may need a little extra help staying warm.

🐶For pets, bring them inside. If you would not stand outside in this cold neither should they. Make sure they have warm bedding, food, and water that is not frozen.
