What is hippotherapy? ? ?

Originating in Europe in the '60s, it has been used as an effective therapy tool in America since the '80s.

Hippotherapy refers to highly trained therapists partnering with horses to deliver a multisensory experience that improves brain functioning at the most primitive levels.

When a child rides a horse, they live the ultimate sensory experience that horseback riding offers. In return, their brain/body functions are enhanced, and we see immediate improvements.

You have to see it to believe it, this is powerful stuff y'all!

HorsePlay is honored to receive a $2,500 grant from the Arkansas Community Foundation Faulkner County ! This unrestricted support means we can continue meeting our riders exactly where they are—whether that’s building strength, confidence, communication, or connection through the power of the horse.

To have a community that believes in what we do and trusts us to use these funds where they’re needed most… that’s something special.

Special shout out to a very special lady… Kendra Parrott James was key to submitting this application. We celebrate our first formal grant acceptance all because of her! Hug her neck EXTRA tight next time you see her, for all the good she continues to do!

We had our LARGEST VOLUNTEER TRAINING to date! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

From return volunteers to brand new ones to therapists in training at Therapy Monkey, our class went over safety, carried out mock sessions, and spent time to remember the heart of why we do what we do at HorsePlay Therapy. We sent our friends home with some yummy snacks and goodie bags, but can't express enough how grateful we are for each one of them!

HUGE thank you to Elite Equine Conditioning for your support, and to Horse Power Equine Rehab and Fitness for hosting at your beautiful facility. This is going to be an incredible year!
