Hello to my new clients at in North Conway!!! I have been working as a massage therapist for 7 years. I started off my career working at high end ski resorts in Utah, helping athletes quickly heal and recover overused and sore muscles. From Utah I opened my own practice in Alaska for 3 years, and have now moved back to my East Coast roots, joining Here in North Conway. Hi! Recently I have been through a lot of trying times, a lot of change, in less than a year and a half I went through a painful breakup, mourning the loss of that relationship, that life and that future, 9 months later I found myself mourning that same person, experiencing a new type of grief, pain and loss creating more transition, challenge and change around and within myself. On top of these big life changes I also recently had most of my valuable possessions stolen from me, including my clothes, my computer, nice camera (that my ex had bought me), and camera bag with 2 years worth of precious irreplaceable photos of adventures that I will never get back. Then of course like most of us I lost my job due to a worldwide pandemic, panic started ensuing all around and within those early days of panic an earthquake shook an even deeper sense of unease and world ending vibes to those of us living in Salt Lake City. I then last minute packed up my things and drove through a snow storm for three days sleeping in my car to drive across country to hunker down in New Hampshire and be with my sister. So change, transition, heartbreak and grief have been an all consuming part of my life for the past year and a half. I’m telling you this just to say that I have been through a lot, but there are tools out there that I use to lesson the pain and to help keep me moving through all the emotions . This Kundalini Mantra Sa Ta Na Ma has been a powerful mantra for me and I thought I would share it here in case anyone could use some help dealing with any type of loss or transformation during these crazy uncertain times. Just a note, this mantra is very powerful in my opinion and can bring up a lot of different emotions while you are chanting, crying is normal and in fact it is helpful, anger and frustration can come up as well and that is all OK, you can use those emotions to keep the chanting/meditation going letting those emotions release through the chanting. I personally have been slacking on meditating though I know how important this time is to go inward and reflect and heal. What do you do when you mess up? Do you give up or do you try harder? I find myself starting a new lifestyle change like eating healthier, a meditation challenge or an exercise routine and it always seems that by the first or second week I have let that new healthy habit lapse, there is always a reason and an excuse but something new for me is forgiveness. A type of self love where I can forgive myself for lapsing on a goal while still holding myself accountable. Recognizing my lapse or my wrong doing but also forgiving myself gave me the power and strength to start over and recommit myself to my health. We have a tendency to give up as soon as we mess up, seeing our inability to follow through with a commitment as a personality flaw. Our tendency to not follow through on a goal is not a flaw in our character but a CHOICE we make, a pattern we’ve carved out usually do to deep seated feelings of shame and unworthiness. But it’s a choice that can be changed whenever you want. You have the power to create a new pattern where you commit to yourself and your health. It’s never too late to start over and your failure is never a reason to quit or give up. Let your failures teach you a lesson about your tendencies and patterns. Let your failures guide you to working harder in the areas of your life that need extra work. Recognizing the challenges ahead you can prepare for the resistance and overcome it better, in this way you can be grateful for your failures making you better equipped to do better in the future! Healing and Relaxing with Olivia

I have been a massage therapist for six years, working with athletes at high end ski resort spas and recently have transitioned to my own private practice. Graduating from Healing Mountain Massage School in 2013 I learned many modalities and styles of massage including Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Sports massage, Thai Massage, Lymphatic draining, Hydro Therapy, Cranial Sacral massage, energy and crystal healing and many others. While I love everything I’ve learned over my years as a therapist and value the different modalities that help heal the body, I have always gravitated towards Deep Tissue. I have found that deep tissue work is the most successful at relieving chronic muscle pain, improving range of motion, and helping the body heal itself. My unique technique to deep tissue is gentle, I work with the connective tissue, releasing tension around the muscle, and slowly smooth out the muscle one layer at a time, not only creating a relaxing experience for my client but creating a safe approach to the core of the muscle to really smooth, stretch and elongate the whole muscle without pain or bruising. I am a firm believer that deep tissue massage should NOT hurt. My work is holistic and detail oriented. I believe that individuals are their own healers and that practitioners are tools to help you heal yourself. I encourage and guide clients to use their breath to stay connected to the body. Fostering an environment where the client is aware of the sensations occurring in the body helps them also be conscious of how they help release those sensations during the massage. I have found that massages are most effective when the client is being an active participant to her/his healing process and I am here to cultivate that experience. While the closest description of my massage is deep tissue I inevitably incorporate many of the modalities I have learned throughout my years as a therapist. I create a unique and custom tailored healing massage depending on the clients needs.
