Purple & Green were the colors of the day as we celebrated St. Urho's Day at the Cook Care Center. 💜💚

Residents had a great time playing a lively game of "Save the Grapes," working together to protect the grapes just like St. Urho did in the legendary tale. There were plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and lots of cheering along the way! 🍇

After the game, everyone enjoyed a delicious snack of fresh grapes, making the celebration even sweeter. It was a fun way to honor the Finnish heritage.

🍪💚 Celebrating National Girl Scout Day at Cook Care Center! 💚🍪

Today we had some very special visitors at the Cook Care Center as we celebrated National Girl Scout Day!

The girls talked about their adventures in scouting, what they enjoy most about being part of their troop, and of course the exciting experience of selling Girl Scout cookies. Our residents loved hearing their stories, asking questions, and reminiscing about their own childhood memories.

To make the visit even sweeter, the girls also sold cookies to residents and staff, which brought plenty of smiles (and a few delicious treats!) throughout the building. 🍪😊

Thank you to Troop 1299 for brightening our day and spending time connecting with our residents. Intergenerational moments like these are so special for everyone involved!

Time flies when you're having fun ... and somehow it is March already, with the promise of spring in the air. Naturally, it's also a great time to do a photo dump with some of February's event highlights.

From Groundhog Day to crafting Valentine Roses, learning about curling, and saying a big thank you to Eric & Anna—we sure have a lot to be grateful for.

Let the fun times continue!

Could Mardi Gras get any more festive? Between Dan's Jambalaya and entertainment by Eric & Anna Pederson (not to mention the fun, laughter, and super cute bags decorated by residents last week), we can confidently say that good times were had by all.

THANK YOU to all who joined us for our annual Christmas Party at the Care Center. Our afternoon was filled with a lineup of activities, warmth, and laughter:

🎅 Photos & story time with Santa
🎁 Gifts were delivered to the residents
❄️ Gingerbread house contest & voting
🎼 Music & caroling with the Pedersons
.. not to mention hot chocolate, cookies, potica, and more.

A special thank you to the Activities team, who go above and beyond to make each day a special one for our residents.

Big Woods Transportation so graciously brought us around Mt. Iron this week so our residents could look at houses decorated in Christmas Lights.

As might be expected, there was caroling on the bus, and we especially appreciated our bus driver, Natalie, who embraced the festive occasion with her nose and antlers.

A joy-filled afternoon 🎁 the halls of Cook Hospital & Care Center are filled with smiles, laughter, and impromptu caroling as the residents embark on a Cocoa & Cheer Delivery.

All in all, a very fun afternoon adventure to spread some Christmas Cheer.
