Scenic Rivers Health Services' focus is to provide medical, dental and behavioral health services in remote, rural areas of northern Minnesota. in 1979.

We live, work and play in the communities we serve, with clinics spanning over an 8,500 square mile area. Scenic Rivers Health Services, a Community Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center, has been dedicated to providing accessible healthcare since its founding as Cook Area Health Services, Inc. Over the years, the organization has expanded to serve an 8,500-square-mile area in northern Minnesota, operating seven medical clinics and four dental clinics. With strong ties to critical access hospitals in Cook and Bigfork, Scenic Rivers Health Services medical providers ensure 24/7 patient care. Its mission focuses on delivering high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services to rural communities, emphasizing a commitment to keeping local residents healthy. By living and working in the same communities they serve, the providers at Scenic Rivers continue to prioritize patient-centered, affordable care for all. All comments must be respectful. Meet Alex Headley - now caring for our community at the Floodwood Medical Clinic! 🩵

Alex provides mental health care for children ages 6+ and adults, helping each person thrive through life’s challenges and goals. Outside the clinic, Alex enjoys gardening, reading, playing with her dog, and baking for friends and family.

Scenic Rivers is upgrading to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to serve you better. During this transition, check-ins may take a little longer, but every step forward means smoother, more connected care for you and your family.

All Scenic Rivers sites will be closed Saturday, October 25, Saturday, November 1 and Monday, November 3 while we implement a new EHR. We will start seeing patients on Tuesday, November 4 in a limited capacity in all clinics.
