✨What a week!✨
From proudly serving as Mistress of Ceremonies at graduation to hopping on a plane to present two sessions at a national conference, it’s been nonstop, but I wouldn’t trade a second of it. 💜✈️🎓

Grateful for every opportunity to grow, share, and connect through the work I love. When passion and purpose align, even the busiest weeks feel rewarding!!

🎓✨ In case you couldn’t tell… graduations are kinda my thing! 💜

After earning my doctorate, I honestly thought that might be the last time I’d wear my regalia; but now I get to bring it out every year, and I couldn’t love it more!

There’s something so special about watching students and their families celebrate all those late nights, the “I can’t do this” moments that turned into “I DID it!” It’s pure joy, resilience, and the magic of what’s next!

Serving as Mistress of Ceremonies for the third year in a row has truly been such an honor, and one of my favorite parts of working at the university! 🎤

Congratulations to the Class of 2025… you did it! Believe me when I say… this is just the beginning… the best is yet to come!

Men are often told to “man up,” “stay strong,” or “just deal with it.” To the men who are fighting the silent battles… just know you’re not alone. There’s strength in facing what’s hard. In talking about what hurts. In asking for help when you need it. For those who were never given the space to feel or to be heard… you are important and valued!

Mental health doesn’t care about gender; anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma… they show up for everyone. You don’t have to suffer in silence.

You can be strong and struggle. You can be tough and talk about what hurts. You’re allowed to be human.

This month, and always, let’s honor the strength in vulnerability. 💪💙

Too often, we find ourselves caught between emotion and logic. The key to emotional intelligence lies in recognizing and validating our emotions, while not letting them dictate our actions. By working on this balance, we empower ourselves to make healthier decisions and stay connected to our own well-being.

In my years of practice thus far, this is what I want people to remember: The anxious mind is an instigator. The depressive mind is a manipulator. While as humans we have the ability to have gifts of insight and intuition, be careful that you do not believe the lies your mind tells you when you’re at your lowest. Hard times do pass, you matter, you are worthy, you are loved, you are not damaged, you are not alone, people do care… even when you don’t. Change is possible and it’s okay to reach out for help!

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month: So Let’s Talk About It!!

In our society, men are often taught to be strong, stoic, and self-reliant. These expectations can make it difficult for men to open up about their mental health struggles. But being human means feeling a range of emotions, and it’s okay to ask for help when you need it.

This Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s break the silence and stigma surrounding men’s mental health. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and talking about it is a sign of strength, not weakness.

It’s time to change the conversation. Here’s how you can support the men in your life:

Create a supportive and safe space, not just by what you say but how you show up! Start the conversation. Educate yourself and break the stigmas. Understand that everyone’s lived experiences are DIFFERENT!

It’s okay not to be okay, and it’s human to need help.

We often inconvenience ourselves or sacrifice our boundaries and values to appease others or to avoid conflict. This leads to others (intentionally or unintentionally) violating our boundaries which can be very difficult to shake. We may replay the situation in our head, fixating on what we would’ve done differently or dwell on how the person could violate our boundaries and go on as if nothing happened. Know your boundaries, set them. You can be both kind and firm in setting your boundaries, resentments are much harder to live with!

Rocked my new favorite shirt in office yesterday.

PSA: Not all therapy/therapists are the same.

It’s okay to change therapists if you feel like your needs are not being met, if you feel like it’s not a good fit, or if you feel like there’s not been progress towards your goals. Therapy is a very complex process of healing, having someone you trust and connect with on a deep level is critical!
