Something I do, so figured I'd share given our Cooper situation :)

Colloidal silver is sometimes used in water treatment as a disinfectant to reduce bacteria, viruses, and fungi. I use it when I store water as well.
For water purification using 70 ppm colloidal silver, add 1 to 2 ml of silver per liter of water (approx 1 quart).This dosage is designed to treat bacteria and microbes.

For larger quantities, this equates to roughly 5 to 10 ml (1-2tsp) per gallon (4 liters) of water.

Stir thoroughly and allow the water to stand for several minutes to hours to ensure disinfection.
I also recommend a good charcoal type filter.
