You've been bitten. Now what?

Do you know how to properly remove a ?
There are so many ways but what is truly the proper way to remove a tick?

Here is the proper way to remove a tick:
1. Clean the area with an alcohol swab or rubbing alcohol.
2. Use clean, fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin's surface as possible.
3. Pull upward with steady, even pressure. ...NEVER twist.
4. After removing the tick, thoroughly clean the bite area and your hands with rubbing alcohol or soap and water.
5. Never crush a tick with your fingers.

Once you remove the tick, make a note of when you were bitten, where on your body you were bitten and then be sure to send the tick in to be tested. Early treatment of any is key to staying healthy.
