Coppell Pediatrics

Coppell Pediatrics "Come, Grow with us!" Our goal is to offer your child the highest standard of pediatric care. Do not assume that everyone knows everything they need to.

The practice of medicine is constantly changing, and the cornerstone of good medical care is mutual understanding, respect and trust between physician, patient and parent. We’re committed to your child’s health and helping your child stay that way, but you’re a key player in making that happen. Here are suggestions from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality that all patients should follow:

Speak up if you have questions or concerns. You have a right to question anyone who is involved with your child’s care. Make sure that someone such as your primary care doctor is in charge of your child’s care. This is especially important if your child has many health problems or is in the hospital. Make sure that all health professionals involved in your child’s care have important health information about him/her. If you child has a test, don’t assume that no news is good news. Ask about the results. Learn about your child’s condition and treatments by asking your doctor. The physician-parent-patient relationships are unique, confidential and sacred, and we strive to uphold this commitment.

Mental health check-ins for children and teens are just as important as their physical check-ups.

- Ask simple, open-ended questions about how your child feels each day.
- Watch for changes in behavior, sleep, or appetite that might signal stress.
- Encourage regular conversations about emotions without judgment.
- Schedule pediatric visits that include mental health screenings.

Taking these steps helps your child feel supported and ensures early care when needed. Book an appointment with Coppell Pediatrics today to prioritize your child's full well-being.

Asthma triggers can hide in the most unexpected places at home, making it tough to keep your child comfortable.

Here's how you can create a safer space for your little one:
• Keep the house clean and dust-free; vacuum regularly with a HEPA filter vacuum.
• Avoid strong scents like perfumes, cleaning sprays, or candles that can irritate sensitive lungs.
• Control humidity to prevent mold; use a dehumidifier if needed.
• Keep pets' bedding and toys cleaned often or out of your child's bedroom.
• Smoke-free home is a must—never allow smoking inside.

If you're noticing frequent asthma flare-ups, schedule an appointment with us at Coppell Pediatrics. We're here to help your child breathe easier and thrive.

When your child shows early signs of a cold or flu, quick action can make all the difference. Keep them hydrated, encourage rest, use a cool mist humidifier, and offer honey for coughs if they're over 1 year old. Watch closely for high fever, difficulty breathing, or dehydration—these need prompt care. Remember, we're here to support your family every step of the way. Have questions or concerns?
