Canes Emergency Response Team

Canes Emergency Response Team CERT is the student-composed and led emergency response team at the University of Miami. For more information, visit www.umcert.com

The team is activated during large-scale disasters affecting the Miami Area as well as being a resource for other agencies. The Canes Emergency Response Team is a student-led team of trained and motivated students. The team trains routinely in triage, search and rescue, first aid, disaster preparedness, and more. The team deploys to disasters that affect the University of Miami and surrounding Miami area. Within our CERT program we have a Cert Outreach. The Community Outreach Committee (COC) drives in expanding community involvement and enrichment through a variety of events, fundraisers and awareness projects. Outreach is also involved in creating programs for our members in line with our training, medical interests. If you are from the community and are interested in creating an event with CERT, please e-mail us at outreach@umcert.com. If you are a CERT member, come to the Community Outreach Committee Meetings to voice your ideas! Meetings are held on the on Mondays at 9pm when there is no general meeting

Spring 2019 training dates are here!

Training will be held on Friday, Feb. 1st from 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM, Saturday, Feb. 2nd and Sunday, Feb. 3rd from 9 AM - 5 PM.

It will be in the Whitten Learning Center, room 120.

Training will be held on Friday, Sep. 7th from 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM, Saturday, Sep. 8th and Sunday, Sep. 9th from 9 AM - 5 PM.
