I believe kindness should always come before criticism. We all live in this world together, trying to figure things out as best we can, and none of us are perfect. I don’t think having an opinion gives anyone the right to be rude, dismissive, or cruel, especially from behind a screen.
I’ve learned that words carry weight. What might feel like a quick comment or joke to one person can land deeply on someone else who is already carrying enough. We don’t always know what someone is living with, healing from, or trying to overcome.
Cyber insults and trolling don’t make anyone stronger or smarter. They just add more noise to a world that already has plenty. I choose to speak with care, or not at all. I choose to be kind, even when it’s easier not to be.
We can disagree without disrespect. We can scroll past without tearing someone down. Kindness is not weakness. It’s a choice, and one I’ll keep making.
