Winter days are around the corner and although florida is typically warmer than anywhere else in the country we do have some very cold weeks. Let’s not forget we usually travel to cold climates during the holidays.

Cold weather makes your skin dryer not just because it’s cold but because there is less water in the air and the water in your skin responsible for hydration will evaporate.

Occlude (seal them in) your products with an ointment or oil as a final step.

I have fallen in love with the Ashwagandha Restorative Cream

PSA: Balance…the more I think about this word the more I realize it’s importance.

Balance in beauty is vital to maintaining a healthy skin barrier and looking your best authentic self.

I have seen a major shift in the industry that concerns me. This isn’t people looking looking like clones anymore… this is a different level of concern. More and more I’m seeing skin that is off balance compromised and over processed.

Many times we can’t even do the treatment. We analyze, give recommendations and ask the client to return when their skin has healed.
YES… we turn a potential customer away. That’s the ethical thing to do.

TikTok, Instagram and YouTube have become the new authority of advertising in disguise and most are falling under their influence, hence the label influencer.

Please remember that your skin and it’s genetic makeup is uniquely yours. There are many factories that go into proper recommendation.

Unless a licensed professional isn’t physically evaluating your skin you can’t be sure that a product will be a good fit for your skin type.

Buying skincare isn’t like buying a pair of jeans and even jeans have to have a proper fit for your body type but at least it’s not going to hurt you if it’s not.

Point is…everything you see on social media is an advertisement, that girl with the perfect skin telling you how this serum, devise, tool or cream changed her life is only trying to sell you what she is being paid to sell you.

Please be patient and seek professional assistance when dealing with your skin. You can ruin it forever and it’s the only one you have.

2nd part:

Well I won’t get into specifics but wow oh wow! I felt like an amateur in her hands. I once heard the term “successful imposter” and that is exactly how I felt.
In this photo I am standing beside Thiara the amazing practitioner with blessed hands.
I did end up telling her I am an esthetician with over 30 years of experience and a facial spa owner but that in all of my years I’ve never felt what I felt at her hands.

I am puffy in the photo not because she made me puffy from the treatment but because of the tears and sobs I let out at the end of the treatment. It was the most beautiful and emotional experience I’ve ever felt. It draws up and out energy and feelings that are stored in your heart for years. It was very liberating and I felt lighter and more balanced. By the evening my skin was radiant and smooth. Emotionally.. I have not been the same.

I didn’t know how but I knew I wanted to learn this healing technique. So … she agreed to teach me. I have been studying and practicing with her for a month now. I am far from done but excited to one day share this amazing facial massage with you one day.

This experience was a true testament to my core belief that to be better one must never think they are the best. You never know who will be your teacher unless you are open to learning. Be a perpetual student.

Sometimes you meet someone by accident that touches your soul in depths you never imagined. I met this young lady not by chance but by faith.

It was a rainy morning in Costa Rica, my son and husband went on a deep sea fishing expedition and I stayed behind with my daughter. Walked over to a little coffee shop or so we thought. Through a tiny little door there was a hallway that was actually a suspended bridge that opened up to the most spectacular view of the coast over cliffs. There we met a very nice young man that was our server. Small talk about where we were from, etcetera. He proceeded to tell us he was actually a massage therapist and his partner did this amazing facial massage treatment she had learned in Japan and if I was going to be around the next few days I should experience it. I had just been through a traumatic family situation and he must have seen it in my face.
He had no idea I was an esthetician.
I smiled and took the card.

Later that night I went into her instagram page and I was definitely intrigued.
The next day I tried to make an appointment and of course she was fully booked. I told her that I would only be in this town for the day and was continuing on to the next town in the morning. She said what a shame and we ended the conversation. I felt in my core that I needed to have this treatment from the description but I always leave things in Gods hands. Not even 15 minutes went by and she called me informing me that she felt I would really benefit from this treatment and had called one of her clients to see if they would give up their appointment for me. Sometimes you meet someone by accident that touches your soul in depths you never imagined. I met this young lady not by chance but by faith.

Trust me I’ve been exhausted and almost asleep when I remember I have to wash my face but knowing the damage caused by sleeping with the gunk my skin has accumulated throughout the day gets me to the sink.

I know we are all busy and sometimes basic things can slip through the cracks of our daily routine.

Forming little habits can really help keep skin clear.
I recommend scheduling in these tips into your weekly routine and before you know it it’s a habit.
