✨Let’s Talk “Gaslighting” and What It Really Means✨
The word gaslighting gets thrown around a lot these days, but what does it actually look like in real relationships?
💬 If you’re on the receiving end, you might start to doubt your perspective, feel unheard, or be told you’re “too sensitive.” It can feel confusing, lonely, and deeply discouraging.
💭 If you’ve been accused of gaslighting, it can be frustrating and hard to hear. You may feel like your side of the story isn’t being understood or that your intentions are being taken the wrong way. Therapy offers tools to express feelings more clearly without defensiveness or blame.
It’s not about pointing fingers. It’s about understanding the patterns together and rebuilding trust.
🎥 Check out Katherine Douglas, LMFT, from our team, as she breaks down the signs and helps couples stop this painful cycle before it takes over. A marriage counselor can help you both find better ways to communicate, set clear boundaries, and feel heard again.

“It’s just a like…” or is it? 💭 In a tech-savvy world, the lines can blur fast, and it’s normal to feel unsure.

Social media, DMs, and follows can create confusion in relationships. What matters is what feels respectful to both of you. Having honest conversations about digital boundaries can prevent resentment down the road. And if it already feels complicated, couples therapy can help you sort through the gray areas - together. Stop Stonewalling From Ruining Your Relationship 💬
If you or your partner shut down during conflict, most times it comes from feeling overwhelmed rather than indifference.
🧠 The fix: Learn to self-soothe, ask for a break (“I need 20 minutes, but I’ll come back”), and repair when you return.
Small moments of reconnection help manage conflict in a healthier, more constructive way. 💞
You can break the shutdown cycle together.
Follow for more therapist-backed strategies for healthier communication and conflict resolution.

Let’s be real: rebuilding connection doesn’t have to feel like a chore! Here are a few simple, heartfelt ways to reconnect when life feels distant:

• Start small and honest
• Ditch the pressure
• Carve out tiny windows to check in
• Speak your needs with care
• Stay curious about each other
• Explore couples therapy

You don’t need a grand gesture - just a little intention and time. 💕

When your partner shuts down mid-argument, it’s not the end. It’s a signal to pause, not push. 💬
Learning how to navigate stonewalling can turn conflict into connection. In this reel, I’m sharing therapist-backed tips to help you pause, regulate, and reconnect, like taking a short break instead of chasing the conversation and using gentle language when you come back together.
💡 Remember: taking space isn’t avoidance, it’s regulation.
This is Part 2 of What To Do When Your Partner Shuts Down During Conflict, otherwise known as stonewalling. Stay tuned for Part 3.

Does your partner shut down during an argument?
Do they go silent, like full ghost mode? 👻
You’re left feeling ignored, shut out, and totally pi**ed off.
You were trying to talk things through, maybe it started as a normal conversation, but somewhere along the way it turned into a one-sided argument.
You’re doing all the talking, and they’re doing all the nothing.
That, my friends, is called stonewalling. 🧱
It’s one of the most frustrating and painful moments in a relationship when one partner emotionally checks out and the other is left spinning, desperate to reconnect.
If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where we’ll talk about what to do when stonewalling shows up in your relationship. 💛
