Our specialty is helping athletes with a history of injuries or burnout, but we enjoy helping all levels of athletes. Training for your sport is a lifestyle change of steady improvement because slow change is permanent change. We especially help those athletes with a boom and bust approach where you survive one heavy training period but cannot sustain the positive changes because of burn out or injury. When you stack a couple healthy training seasons together: you feel better, you move better, and you look forward to your yearly physical. Why not invest in the most important thing in your life...yourself?
We specialize in complex orthopedic and sports injuries and focus on getting to know you and your body to optimize your movement. We are an independent clinic with a unique style. Most physical therapy chains offer limited evaluations, forcing the clinician to diagnose over the first 2-3 visits. At Aero, we provide thorough evaluations on the first day to get to the root quicker. We also take the time to educate and empower you.
Like most Physical Therapists it all started with an injury. I sprained my ankle during homecoming week in high school. Jason, the Physical Therapist in my hometown, had an opening so I started seeing him immediately. During our first appointment, Jason set goals for me: 1)You will play in the homecoming football game. 2) You will catch a touchdown. 3) You will become homecoming king. He delivered. I was able to play in my senior year homecoming game and I was crowned homecoming king. I never did catch that touchdown, though. That is why I became a Physical Therapist; to give that same gift to my community and help people move better.
After treating clients for a few years, I learned runners or triathletes frequently made the mistake of the terrible too’s: too much, too soon, too often, for too long. The research says majority of injuries or burn out happen this way because people lack a proper training plan. This, in part, led me to become a USA Triathlon Certified Coach in order to help people before they stepped through the door at the physical therapy clinic. This is why I specialize in helping injury-prone athletes and people trying to get back into shape. These people often just need help finding the right training intensity, frequency, and duration. I would love to help you... send me a message or give me a call!
The joy of coaching triathletes led me to Assistant Coaching at Coe College for the Women’s NCAA D3 Triathlon Team and the Men’s Triathlon Club Team.

Anyone can complete a triathlon. Yes, you heard that right... anyone. A new lifestyle starts with one workout. People often overestimate what they can achieve in a day and underestimate what they can achieve in a year. Remove struggle and make small changes gradually, because, like I said before, slow change is permanent change. It’s not about winning or losing; it’s about you becoming the best version of you and committing to a growth mindset. It’s not about the fear of not performing well, it’s about enjoying the process. Aero Performance & Physical Therapy was founded because we love helping people move better and feel better. We would love to help you! Reach out today!
I attended my first triathlon as a volunteer. At first glance, I thought it looked intimidating. But, then I started to see every different type of bike on the course and every different type of body cross the finish line and I thought to myself, “Maybe I have a shot at completing one.” The following year I attempted my first triathlon thanks to a close friend lending me his family’s old road bike they nicknamed “the tank.” The chain broke mid race so I had to be picked up by the race crew, but I was able to complete two legs of the triathlon. Then, my close friends and I signed up as a team, each completing one leg, and we won the team division. The next year, I finally completed my first triathlon and was hooked.
After completing an intense training year without a true training plan, I won my age division at the cost of burnout. It was a boom and bust mentality. I quickly learned I needed help, so I reached out to a coach. With his guidance I was able to enjoy the sport with a better mindset and a commitment to long-term improvement. Anything that truly improves your performance should also make you more resistant to injury and burnout. This was part of the reason I wanted to become a Triathlon Coach myself and studied for the USA Triathlon Coaching Certification.
This knowledge changed everything. I was able to enjoy full training seasons with quicker times and fewer wasted workouts. Each session had a proper dose of intensity, duration, and purpose. I no longer just showed up at the gym and ran at the pace that felt right that day. I was finally able to build fitness in a sustainable way. This led me to Ironman...
Then, I added fat tire biking to my cross training. Riding on the mountain bike trails is exhilarating in its own way and...has excellent scenery.
Then it was back to Ironman...
