The Healing Order

The Healing Order Chinese medicine and naturopathic medicine clinic located in the Historic Columbia Gorge Scenic Area, outside Portland, Oregon.

As part of our expanding mission, The Healing Order inaugurates a new era in our practice, allowing us to focus more intensely on our patients and offer a greater array of holistic therapies in the future. This is a chance for us to model a different kind of healthcare for other providers, and for a world that seems to keep wanting to only treat illness, rather than support health. We will continu

e to schedule consultations, dietary evaluations, acupuncture, and moxibustion and, of course, provide custom Chinese herbs and supplements at our Gordon Creek location until we can move into our new home next year.

Spring often brings forward what the body has been holding through winter.
Nettles, one of the first greens to emerge, are deeply nourishing—rich in minerals and traditionally used to support gentle detoxification, circulation, and overall vitality.
A simple way to align with the season is to welcome these early plants into your routine, whether as tea, broth, or food. 🌿

A quiet kind of strength—
not in suppressing emotion, but in not being ruled by it.

In Chinese medicine, balance isn’t about feeling less,
but about letting emotions move without taking over.

💗Menopause and perimenopause are natural transitions—but that doesn’t mean they’re always easy.

From a Chinese medicine perspective, this phase reflects shifts in yin, yang, and the body’s deeper reserves. When these become imbalanced, symptoms like heat, restlessness, and fatigue can arise.

Acupuncture offers steady, gentle support by helping the body regulate, restore, and adapt.

Over time, many find greater ease, better sleep, and a renewed sense of balance through this transition.

🌬️ March’s Organ of the Month: The Large Intestine.

Active from 5–7am, this system governs elimination, detoxification, and our ability to let go—physically and emotionally. Supporting healthy morning routines, hydration, and gentle movement helps keep Qi flowing and the body clear.

Hormonal health is often discussed in modern terms, but Chinese medicine has long understood it through the lens of balance, circulation, and nourishment.

Small daily habits—how we eat, rest, move, and care for the body—can play an important role in supporting this balance over time.

Here are a few simple practices rooted in traditional wisdom that may help support the body’s natural rhythms and overall hormonal health.
