National First Responders Day 💙❤️🩶🤍💛💚
Today, we honor the people who run toward emergencies, our EMS, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, 911 dispatchers, search & rescue, and every ither role. Your courage and sacrifice keep our families safe. 💙
A moment in time that will I never forget:
“My name is Whitney Honeycutt and I am the Practice Manager for Jaynes Family Practice, a few years back, my husband, myself and our 3 kids were shopping at a mall not to far from corbin when shots broke out and it turned to an active shooter incident. I as well as every other person were in panic mode and ran. Once I got my kids outside, and realized my husband and youngest we still trapped in the mall I freaked, began to cry and all the things. In that moment, my older kids and I watched an off-duty police officer run across the parking lot in her shorts and flip flops from Olive Garden. While myself and hundreds of others ran away from danger, this hero sprinted toward the danger while shots were being fired. No hesitation. No fanfare. Just duty. That’s what it means to be a first responder. That image stays with our family: bravery looks like getting up, moving toward the call, and protecting people you may never meet again. Thank You to everyone who works tirelessly everyday to protect us from all things evil, the things we see and more than that the things we don’t.”
