COMMUNITY NOTICE: OUR MEDICATION PRESCRIBING STANDARDS
We understand many in our community have questions following recent events in and around our community, we want to share our standards for care for anyone considering becoming a New Patient.
At Jaynes Family Practice, patient safety and responsible prescribing come first. If you choose to establish care with us, please know:
✅ A thorough evaluation is required. We do not prescribe controlled medications without an appropriate medical assessment. Depending on your situation, this may include review of prior records, an in-person exam, appropriate labs/imaging, and/or a psychiatric evaluation when indicated.
✅ We follow strict safety and compliance guidelines. This includes use of the PDMP (KASPER) and evidence-based prescribing standards. Additional monitoring may be required.
✅ Appointments do not guarantee prescriptions. Scheduling a visit does not mean any specific medication will be prescribed, even if it is a medication you are currently precribed from someone else. All treatment decisions are based on medical necessity, documentation, and patient safety.
✅ We do not prescribe “excessive” quantities. We do not provide early refills, replacements for lost/stolen medications, or controlled prescriptions without clinical justification and appropriate monitoring.
