Independent Living and Assisted Living residents enjoyed a meaningful outing last week at the Golden Valley Humane Society. The shelter’s 55+ program offers older adults a welcoming space to enjoy coffee, meet new friends, and spend time volunteering with animals. Our residents loved connecting with the pets, the people, and the purpose behind this wonderful community initiative.

Our residents welcomed several local officers on November 4 for a special visit hosted by the national Coffee with a Cop initiative — a program designed to bring police officers and community members together in relaxed conversation. By enjoying coffee and lunch side by side, our community had an opportunity to build trust, exchange stories, and connect faces with badges in a welcoming setting.

Our residents had a wonderful time at Craft Club, creating their own DIY canvas totes. Independent Living and Assisted Living residents gathered in the clubhouse to paint, personalize, and enjoy an afternoon of creativity and community.

We had a wonderful turnout last night for our very first Adult Children Program at Saint Therese of Corcoran! We welcomed a full room of engaged attendees who came ready to learn, ask questions, and talk about planning for aging parents and loved ones. Thank you to everyone who joined us — your energy made the evening so meaningful.

A heartfelt thank-you to our terrific panelists from Caring Transitions Twin Cities Central, Ascend Rehabilitation, Adara Home Health, and the Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota for sharing your expertise and compassion.

We’re also proud to recognize our three Saint Therese presenters, whose knowledge and real-world experience helped bring this topic to life.

And to the many Saint Therese colleagues who supported the evening — from room setup, décor, and culinary to hospitality, tours, and tech support — thank you for helping create such a welcoming and successful event.

We’re already excited for the next session. Stay tuned!

This Veterans Day, we honor Navy veteran John Thuente, a resident of Saint Therese of Woodbury. His story is one of quiet courage — from the skies over Vietnam to a life of faith, family, and service.

This Veterans Day, we also honor all who have served — men and women whose courage, compassion and respect remind us daily what it means to live our Saint Therese values.
