A Lesson About Letting Go 💛
❗️As Johnny and I finish our foster care classes, we’ve been having preparation conversations with our son in doses about what it means to open our home and share mom and dad with another child who may come from a hard place.
❗️During one conversation about sharing his favorite toy, tears came — not because anything happened, but because of the possibility of letting go.
❗️And in that moment, God revealed a deeper lesson to all of us.
Sometimes what we hold onto the tightest exposes areas where God is inviting us to trust Him more. When releasing something feels hard, it may be a heart check.
✨ Open hands make room for God to move.
↔️Heart Check / Call to Action: • What am I holding onto too tightly?
• Is God asking me to surrender something today?
• Am I loving people more than possessions?

🙏Take a moment and pray:
“Lord, examine my heart.” ❤️

Because fostering doesn’t start when a child enters your home —
it starts with God shaping the hearts already inside it.

Proverbs 15:30 says, “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.” ✨
Ahhh, I love this.❤️❤️❤️❤️

It challenges me… does my look bring joy or disdain? Does my presence lift the room or weigh it down?

Oh Lord, may my face reflect Your kindness. May my expressions carry the joy of the Lord. May the way I look at people communicate grace, warmth, and hope.

Especially to those who don’t yet know Him yet!
A cheerful look isn’t shallow — it’s ministry. 💛

Encouragement.....
We bear fruit by remaining close to Jesus.

“Remain in me… apart from me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5

My prayer is that the life of Jesus flows through me so those I lead and encounter experience His love, wisdom, and peace. We don’t lead from our own strength — we lead from our connection to Him.

Stay close. That’s where true influence begins.

What a gift it is that I get to serve and teach alongside him. ❤️

Since August 2023, we’ve been entrusted with the beautiful assignment of leading the Single Again Life Group, and it has been nothing short of a blessing. To walk with others, encourage hearts, and point people to the hope found in Jesus—together—is sacred work.

Grateful for the calling. Grateful for the partnership. Grateful for every life God allows us to serve. ✨

Servant Leadership Requires Both Compassion and Boundaries
(Matthew 14:13–23)
❗️One of the greatest tensions of servant leadership is knowing when to pour out and when to pull away. Jesus modeled both. He served the crowds with compassion, healing and feeding them, yet He also sent them away to spend time alone with His Father in prayer.
❗️Servant leaders don’t serve to please people — they serve to please God. We are called to love deeply and steward our time wisely.
↔️Wisdom is knowing when to serve and when to step away and be refilled.

How do you balance knowing when to pour 🫗 and when to pull away?

❗️❗️❗️What a powerful word from Hebrews today.
Takeaway
⏭️When we live in the past, we live in depression.
⏭️When we live in the future, catastrophizing what might happen, we live in anxiety.
⏭️But when we live in the present—anchored in Christ—we experience the joy of the Lord and the abundant life He promises.
This world is not our home. We are temporary residents with an eternal hope in Jesus. So today, I choose to be present, fix my mind on Him, and live in the joy and hope He provides. ✨
