Magnolia Regional Health Center is proud to share a major milestone in advanced cardiac care.

Dr. Paul Volansky recently performed the first pulmonary embolism (PE) thrombectomy procedure at MRHC, bringing a life-saving treatment option closer to home for our community. Since that first case, our team has successfully completed two additional PE thrombectomy procedures, with the most recent performed by Dr. Aaron Earles.

A pulmonary embolism is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition caused by a blood clot in the lungs. Having the ability to perform thrombectomy procedures right here at MRHC means patients can receive rapid, advanced intervention without the need for transfer to another facility — when minutes truly matter.

This achievement highlights the expertise and collaboration of our physicians and care teams, and we are especially grateful for the support of MRHC administration, our doctors, dedicated OR staff, and the exceptional cath lab and echo teams — whose skill and teamwork make advanced procedures like this possible. ❤️

Keeping little hands clean is one of the easiest ways to keep little bodies healthy! 🧼✨

At Magnolia Regional Health Center’s Magnolia Pediatric Clinic, we know kids are always on the move—at school, on the playground, and at home. Germs can spread quickly, especially during cold and flu season, but good hand hygiene can make a big difference.

Teach your child to wash their hands:
🖐 Before eating or touching food
🖐 After using the restroom
🖐 After coughing, sneezing, or blowing their nose
🖐 After playing outside or with pets

Use soap and water, scrub for at least 20 seconds, rinse well, and dry with a clean towel. When soap and water aren’t available, use hand sanitizer.

Healthy habits start at home—and our Magnolia Pediatric Clinic is here to support your child’s health every step of the way. 💚

🌟 Employee of the Year: Heather Carnell 🌟

Please join us in congratulating Heather Carnell, our Employee of the Year at Magnolia Regional Health Center! 💚

Heather serves as the intake nurse for Home Health and Hospice, and this recognition reflects her extraordinary dedication to patient advocacy and compassionate care.

Heather was awarded Employee of the Quarter during the first quarter of 2025, and after a very tough decision, she was selected as our Employee of the Year. Heather went above and beyond to help a patient who had been without power in his home during extremely cold weather. After losing his license, Social Security card, and other forms of identification in a previous house fire, the patient faced significant barriers to restoring electricity. Despite multiple roadblocks, Heather refused to give up.

She made numerous calls to the Social Security office, medical records, and the DMV, ultimately identifying a solution that allowed the patient to obtain a new form of identification. Working closely with the social worker and community resources, her efforts helped ensure the patient’s power was restored and set him on a path to securing permanent identification.

Heather’s persistence, compassion, and problem-solving truly embody our mission of caring for the whole person—not just the diagnosis. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and proud to recognize her as our Employee of the Year.

We would also like to recognize and thank our other outstanding nominees—Tricia Tomlinson, Kelly Flurry, and Julia Steward—for their dedication, hard work, and the incredible impact they make for our patients and community every day. 🌟

👏 Congratulations to Heather and all of our nominees and thank you for making a difference every single day!
