Kossuth High School senior, Katie Beth Shelton, recently had the opportunity to job shadow Dr. Nick Dodd at Dodd Eye Clinic. 👓

During her experience, Katie Beth observed patient care and gained hands-on insight into the daily responsibilities of an optometrist. This opportunity allowed her to explore her interest in eye health and deepen her understanding of careers in the medical field.

Thank you, Dr. Dodd, for allowing Katie to shadow with you. We appreciate your dedication to our students and their future.

Dr. William Dodd had a rewarding visit at CES for career day. There were several students interested in Optometry, but there were also several students that have never had an eye exam before. If your child has never had an eye exam, we'd love to help. Call or text 662-286-5671.

While neither of our offices are located in the path of totality and it's quite overcast, we wanted make sure that your eyes are safe during the eclipse.

There is only one safe way to look directly at the sun, whether during an eclipse or not: through special-purpose solar filters. These solar filters are used in “eclipse glasses” or in hand-held solar viewers. They must meet a very specific worldwide standard known as ISO 12312-2.

Looking directly at the sun without the proper solar filter is unsafe and can cause temporary or even permanent damage to your eyes. We hope none of you experience any injury during the eclipse, but if you do we're here for you.
