Funeral service for Peggy Ann McDaniel, 88 of Corinth are set for Sunday, April 26, at 3:00 p.m. at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church in Corinth, MS with Bro. Josh Westmoreland and Bro. Kara Blackard officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, April 26 from 1:30-3 p.m. at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in Magnolia Gardens.

Peggy passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at her home in Corinth, MS. She was born January 3, 1938 in Iuka, MS. She was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church in Corinth, MS. She loved her family! She was self-employed as a professional Interior Designer and helped design interiors for many of Corinth’s premier homes and businesses over the years. She was a homemaker as well and loved to entertain. She was crowned by her friends as the “Hostess with the mostest”. She loved her family and was an amazing mother and wife! She loved to travel and was able to travel to many countries in Europe over the years. While her husband was stationed in Italy she traveled to be with him while with child and did not speak a word of Italian. She had an adventurous spirit and loved life to the fullest. She loved her church and church family and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Charles McDaniel; son, Mike McDaniel; and son, Jeff McDaniel; 7 grandchildren, Paige Cook, Kacie Hardin, Heather Stephens, Nick McDaniel, Hanna Sanderford, Jake McCollough, Alex McDaniel; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grands; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bliss and Christine Hamm; her sister, Barbara Dean; her brother, Duane Hamm. Linda Odle, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Corinth community, passed away on April 22, 2026, at her residence in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on May 4, 1943, Linda's life was marked by an unwavering devotion to her family and faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment that touched all who knew her.

Linda and her late husband shared a remarkable partnership, having owned Ole Smokey BBQ for over ten years, where their dedication and hard work were well known. Many will remember Linda as the devoted director at Kids World, a role in which her compassionate nature and boundless energy made a lasting impact on countless young lives.

Family was the cornerstone of Linda’s existence, and she took immense pride in her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her proudest accomplishments were centered on these relationships, and she was a charter member of Central Baptist Church, where she enriched the congregation’s worship by singing in the choir. Linda’s faith and fellowship were integral parts of her life until the very end.

Those fortunate enough to know Linda will recall her extraordinary culinary talents—she was renowned as the greatest cook of chicken and dumplings, cornbread, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes, and bacon. Her grandchildren particularly treasured her as a professional UNO player and source of joyous game nights. Above all, Linda embodied the sentiment that nothing was more important than family.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne Odle; sons Kenneth Odle, David Odle and his wife Rebecca, and Steven Odle; grandchildren Brooke Walker and her husband Zach, and D.J. Odle; as well as great-grandchild Conrad Walker. She is also remembered by her siblings Charlie McDaniel and his wife Peggy, Marilyn Duncan, and sister-in-law Gwyn Russell and her husband BW. The family cherishes these bonds that continue to honor Linda’s memory.

Linda was preceded in death by her infant son Kevin Odle; her parents Elbert and Bonnie McDaniel; brothers Bobby McDaniel with his wife Sue, and Terry McDaniel with his wife Janice; and by her brothers-in-law Greg Duncan and sister-in-law Diane Mullins.

Services to honor Linda’s life will be held at Central Baptist Church, located at 241 Co Rd 218, Corinth, MS 38834, on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Donnie Davis will lead the service, with Bro. Matt Alred reading the obituary. Pallbearers will be the men of Central Baptist Church.

Linda Odle’s enduring spirit, loving heart, and commitment to faith and family will be remembered with great respect and affection by all whose lives she touched. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Gideons. John Eldred Little

John Eldred Little, age 61, passed away on April 18, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on May 14, 1964, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to Travis and Doris Little, originally of Alcorn County. At the age of 2, he and his parents relocated back to Corinth, MS, after Travis completed his service in the U.S. Air Force.

A 1982 graduate of Alcorn Central High School, John was a standout athlete whose passion for tennis defined much of his life. He played competitively at both Northeast Junior College and the University of North Alabama. Throughout his life, whether he was playing tournaments or traveling to watch the world’s best players, his love for the game never wavered.

John built a successful career in sales that began in the Memphis, TN, area and continued when he relocated to Franklin, TN, working for Sysco Guest Supply and later American Paper and Twine. His dedication and talent were recognized with several prestigious awards.

John attended People’s Church in Nashville.

He is survived by his parents, Senator Travis and Doris Little of Corinth, MS; his twin sisters, Regina Hagan (Todd) of Corinth, MS, and Laura Cooley (Kevin) of Chattanooga, TN; his nieces and nephew, Caroline Gillentine (Jordan) of Starkville, MS, Olivia Mitchell (Drew) of Corinth, MS, Cade Hagan (Ashlee) of Corinth, MS, and Faith Hagan, of Baldwyn, MS. He also has five grand-nieces and grand-nephews. John’s faithful companion was his beloved dog, Rocco.

A Celebration of Life will be held by the family in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

To know John was to love his boyish charm and infectious laugh! John was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

Alma Austin, a cherished loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and dear friend. She passed away peacefully into her Heavenly Father’s loving arms on April 21, 2026. She was born March 4, 1937 in Counce, TN.

Alma lived a life of love and dedication to her family. She loved her church, loved to cook, loved flowers, and had an unwavering work ethic.

For most of her life, she worked in restaurants as a waitress/cook. She loved serving people. She started her career at Little Andy’s in Counce, TN where she met the love of her life, Bobby Austin. She also worked at Michie Elementary School with the afternoon program. She loved the kids and they loved and adored Ms. Alma. Everyone she came in contact with loved Ms. Alma. She just had that kind of affect on people because of her loving nature and kindness. She was always the same every time you saw her.

She loved her daughter, Debra and her husband Daniel. She lived with them the last 2 months of her life and they treated her like a Queen. They took care of her until she passed away. Her grandson, Trae, has always been the apple of her eye and now he made her a great-grandmother with her sweet Parker Anne. One of the last things she said Thursday evening as Parker sat beside her on the bed was, “Ain’t she pretty”.

Alma is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Debra Ballard (Daniel), grandsons Trae Bain (Caitlin), Trevor Ballard (Olivia), Brayden Ballard (Allie). 4 great-granddaughters Parker Anne Bain, Briarlynn Ballard, Willow Ballard, and Paisley Ballard. They sure loved their “Granny”. A loving sister Lola “Sue” Smith; A special niece, Shelia Moore; A special sister-in-law and friend, Donna Austin. Two special ladies that were like daughters, Maurica Brown Ross and Karen Stutts Barbee; and a host of other family members and friends.

Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bobby R. Austin. Her beloved mother, Leller Parson, father, Archie Parson; sisters Ruby Smith, and Thelma Cartwright; brothers William “Hoss’ Parson, Arlon “Ross”Parson; Coye Parson: and Virgil Parson; a special niece Betty Sue Parson Webb, and 2 special brothers-in-law Lowell “Pete” Smith and Ottie Smith.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Magnolia Funeral Home -East located 2024 Hwy 72 East Corinth, MS. A celebration of Alma’s life with be held on Friday, April 24, 2006 at 11:00 am at Michie First Church Michie, TN with Bro. Ben Martin officiating. Pallbearers are Trevor Ballard, Brayden Ballard, Chad Austin, Blake Austin, David Smith, and Rickey Smith. Mary's professional journey was marked by more than 40 years of devotion to ITT, where she contributed her talents and dedication. Her steadfast work ethic set an example for those who knew her both inside and outside the workplace.

A passionate supporter of sports, Mary’s enthusiasm was especially vibrant when it came to any activities involving her son, grandchildren, and the local teams. Her loyalty to Alcorn Central High School basketball and baseball was well known and often celebrated, reflecting her deep-rooted love for community spirit and family involvement.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Neal Smith. Together, they shared a beautiful partnership that spanned decades and provided the foundation for a close-knit family. She is survived by her son, Travis Neal Smith, Jr. (Lisa); her grandsons, Josh Smith (Paige), Jacob Smith (Emerald), and Jonah Smith (Colby); as well as her great-grandson, Deacon Smith. These family members carry forward her legacy of love, dedication, and spirited support.

Born on July 21, 1956, in Corinth, Amelia's life was marked by deep devotion to her family and a passion for creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

A proud 1974 graduate of Corinth High School, Amelia furthered her education at Mississippi State University, where she graduated in 1979. Throughout her life, she embraced the values instilled in her during these formative years and carried them forward in her personal and family life.

Amelia was known for the warmth of her personality and the profound love she held for her family, especially her daughter, Kelly Jamieson. She found joy in spending quality time with those closest to her, nurturing relationships that brought comfort and happiness.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Kelly Jamieson; her brother, David W. Lancaster (Ginger); her sister, Christy Lancaster (Ronnie Ryan); her nieces Laura Lancaster and Madison Mayhall; her nephew Jonathan Lancaster (Jaycee); as well as her great-nieces, Meri Klare and Korie Kate Lancaster.

Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Jamieson; and her parents, John Wesley and Eulene Lancaster, who laid the foundation of her strong character.

A Celebration of Life Service for Steve Lair 74, of Corinth, MS will be Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Rev. Jared Hight will officiate the service. Mr. Lair passed away peacefully on April 15th at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center.

He was born on September 29, 1951, in Kennett, Missouri, to Wiliferd Lair, Sr. and Mary Lucille Lair.

Steve began his career with Wonder Bread, which brought him to Mississippi. He later worked for Frito-Lay as a route salesman and went on to serve as a district sales manager in Tupelo and Corinth. Over the course of 27 years, he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike.

Steve was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return. He enjoyed spending time with friends, especially on golf trips they took a couple of times each year. He also had a deep love for children and was always willing to coach and support youth teams whenever he had the opportunity.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wiliferd Lair, Sr.; his mother, Mary Lucille Lair; and his brother, Wiliferd Lair, Jr. and his beloved dog, Chester.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Julian) Lair of Corinth, Mississippi; his sons, Stevie Joe Lair and Rusty Lair (Tiffany) of Tupelo, Mississippi; his daughters, Perashina Camp of Booneville, Mississippi and Samantha Coughlin (Eddie) of Key West, Florida.

He is also survived by his nine beloved grandchildren, Nikki Robertson, Anna Robertson, Joey and Rachel Lair, Emme, Lincoln, and Millie Coughlin, Libby Lee and Bennett Lair; and by his five beloved great-grandchildren, Gunner, Everly, and Nolan Stanton, Kyran Robertson, and Kamiliana (Millie) Floyd.

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brother, Wayne Lair (Brenda) of Kansas City, Missouri; his sisters, Jane Starkey and Kay Bova, both of St. Louis, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Lair of Bushnell, Florida; his stepchildren, Jennifer Powell and Justin Powell (Ashley) of Bentonville, Arkansas; and his step-grandchildren, Addison and Owen Powell. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved dog, Boo-Boo.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Griggs, Mike Sellers, Dennis Watson, Ricky Vinson, Eddie Coughlin and Lincoln Coghlin.

Sarah Jean Whittemore, born on June 20, 1954, in Rienzi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in Corinth, Mississippi. She was a beloved member of The Chapel of Pentecost, formerly known as Tobes Chapel, and her life was marked by deep devotion to her family, faith, and community.

Sarah dedicated over three decades of her life to caregiving, serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Whitfield Nursing Home for an impressive 32 and a half years. Her commitment to the well-being of others and her compassionate nature left an enduring impact on those she cared for and worked alongside.

A woman of varied interests, Sarah found joy in traveling, shopping, cooking, and especially spending cherished moments with her family. Renowned as the Queen of bargain hunting, she had an exceptional talent for finding the best deals, a quality that delighted friends and family alike.

She is survived by her son, Fenton Whittemore, and his wife, Kathryn; her treasured grandchildren, Christian Whittemore and Katelyn Whittemore; and her sisters, Ola Mitchell, Helen Gray, Mary Spencer, Reatha Spencer, Leatha Womble, and Beatrice Rorie, who is married to Richard. Sarah also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends who will remember her warmth and generous spirit.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Hulet Robbins; her mother, Minnie Parker Robbins; her brothers, Jimmy Robbins, John Robbins, and Henry Robbins; and her sisters, Roxie Burcham, Susie Killough, Joyce Killough, and Shirley Rorie.
