Mary Jane Burcham

A celebration of life service for Mary Jane Burcham, 5 years old, of Rienzi, MS is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Greater Life United Pentecostal Church. Bro. Joseph Burcham and Bro. Tommy Callahan will officiate the service. The family will welcome extended family and friends to join them at visitation from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Greater Life United Pentecostal Church. Per the family’s request, please wear colorful or Bluey themed clothing in honor of Mary Jane.

There are some children whose light is so bright, so joyful, so unmistakably theirs, that even a short time on this earth leaves a lifetime of love behind. Mary Jane was one of those rare, radiant spirits.

She was born November 22, 2020, in Corinth, MS to Chaz and Hailey Burcham and she was welcomed into Heaven Sunday, March 15, 2026. Mary Jane filled her family’s world with color, laughter, and motion from the very beginning. She was endlessly energetic—always ready to run, explore, and discover something new. If her Papa was home, she’d walk down the hill just to see him, her little feet carrying her with purpose and excitement. She adored her grandma just as fiercely, especially when she needed someone to take her side or give in to her requests. She enjoyed watching Bluey marathons, Fancy Nancy twirls, K‑pop Demon Hunters adventures, and creating irreplaceable memories with her Jojo while visiting the monkeys at the zoo. She loved her cats and dogs with the same big-hearted affection she gave to everyone around her. Her smile was contagious and she always had a way of making people feel chosen, special, and loved. Her favorite phrases, “I missed you all day” and “You are my favorite,” were spoken with such sincerity that they wrapped themselves around your heart and stayed there. She was incredibly excited to start kindergarten. She talked about it with pride, anticipation, and that spark in her eyes that made you believe she was ready to take on the whole world. She loved making people smile, and she did it effortlessly—through her words, her hugs, her laughter, and her beautiful, boundless spirit. Mary Jane was deeply loved, thoroughly spoiled, and cherished by so many. And she gave that love right back, in ways only she could.

Those left to honor her memory include her parents, Chaz and Hailey Burcham, paternal grandfather, Thomas Burcham, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Stephanie Stewart; maternal grandmother, Amanda Gould; great grandparents, Kerry and Joye Burcham; Aunts and Uncles, Austin Burcham (Samantha), TJ Burcham (Misty), Jordan Burcham (Beau), Amber Tracy (TJ), and Nick Middleton; a host of cousins and extended family.

Though her time here was heartbreakingly brief, her impact was immeasurable. She leaves behind memories that will forever shine—bright, warm, and full of the joy she carried so naturally.

Her light remains. Her love remains. And she will always, always be the favorite.

Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mary Jane Elaine Burcham.

Bobby Joe Jackson, a man whose steady presence was the cornerstone of his family, passed away on March 14, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on May 9, 1957, in Ripley, Mississippi, Bobby Joe’s life was a testament to the quiet strength and unwavering love that defined him from the very beginning.

It seemed no coincidence that he arrived in this world on Mother’s Day, for his life was deeply intertwined with a unique tapestry of maternal care. Having two older sisters who lavished him with affection and guidance, Bobby Joe grew up surrounded by nurturing forces that shaped his gentle and forgiving nature. His personality was characterized by an easygoing spirit and a great sense of humor—a combination that endeared him to all who knew him. Patient and understanding, he was the calming anchor for his family, the glue that held them together through every storm and celebration.

Bobby Joe’s career was distinguished by his role as a team lead at Caterpillar, where he retired after years of dedicated service. But beyond the workplace, his passions spoke volumes about the man he was: cars and hunting were lifelong loves, pursuits that brought him joy and a sense of connection to the world around him.

His home life was filled with deep, abiding love shared with his wife of 37 years and lifelong best friend, Sharon Jackson. Together, they built a life rooted in mutual respect and companionship. His sisters, Nylene Dowdy and Charlene Keith, remained pillars in his life, alongside his special nieces and nephews, Angie Karstens (Brett), Steven Dowdy (Tina), Kylie Jones (Donnie), and the next generation— special great nieces and nephews, Noah Watson (Rachel), Dalton Karstens, Grace Karstens, and Ty Dowdy—each one carrying forward the legacy of his kindness , humor and endless doting. He was also loved by other Hopper and Jackson relatives, a host of friends, including his long-time hunting buddies, his cousin, Deryl Cossitt and friend, Mark English, who will remember his warmth and steady hand.

Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his devoted father, Q.T. Jackson; his mother, Opal Hopper Jackson; and brother-in-law, Gene Dowdy. He was also preceded by his cat, Thunder—a companion so singular in his heart that it was said she truly was HIS cat.

Bobby Joe Jackson’s story is one of patience, laughter, unfailing love, his quit strength and his faith and love for the Lord—a steadfast beacon within his family, community and his church. As they remember him, it is clear that his spirit’s calming force will resonate through generations, a lasting testament to a remarkable man who found joy in the simple gifts of life and devoted himself fully to those he loved.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Walnut Methodist Church or Alcorn County Animal Shelter. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Bobby Joe Jackson.

Iver Vandiver

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Iver O’Neal Vandiver, 76, of Corinth, MS, at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2026, and 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Bro. Terry Smith will officiate the service. Pallbearers include Gary Kenaum, Tony Voyles, Bill Busby, Jimmie Vandiver, Travis Neal Cornelius, and John Cornelius. Jerry Haynie, Lewis Patterson, Scotty Little, and Roy Oaks will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Iver was born March 19, 1949, and he passed from this life Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He lived a life marked by courage, generosity, and a steadfast devotion to others. A proud Army veteran who fought in the Vietnam War, he carried the discipline, resilience, and bravery of his service into every part of his life. Yet beneath that warrior’s strength was a man with a big heart—someone who loved helping people and never hesitated to step in when he was needed.

For many years, Iver worked as a millwright, then transitioned into owning his own business, Ivco, which evolved into a trade that suited his sharp mind and natural problem‑solving abilities. He was trusted with countless projects and responsibilities, and he approached each one with skill, precision, and pride. If something was broken, he could fix it—usually in that signature “Iver way,” all while slipping in his favorite joke: “I’m the one who taught MacGyver everything he knows.” If someone needed help, he showed up. His reliability was a gift to everyone who knew him.

Iver had a collector’s spirit—curious, sentimental, always drawn to the stories behind the things he gathered. He loved the outdoors, especially the lake, where some of his most cherished memories were made. His children will forever hold close the days he spent teaching them how to water ski, cheering them on with that fearless grin of his. A daredevil at heart, Iver lived boldly and without hesitation.

He also had a remarkable sense of humor. In the most awkward or tense moments, he could lighten the room with a perfectly timed joke, easing hearts and reminding everyone that laughter has a place even in difficult times. He was a wonderful friend—steady, loyal, and deeply dependable. You could always count on Iver, and so many people did.

He was liked and loved by countless friends, coworkers, and family members because he lived with sincerity. He worked hard, cared deeply, and treated people with kindness and respect. His presence made life brighter, easier, and more hopeful for those around him.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Kim Vandiver Sparks (Terry); sons, Iver O. Vandiver II, Jacob Vandiver, and Lucas Vandiver (Ashli); mother of his daughter, Carolyn Riddell Wilson; mother of his sons, Jan Rogers; granddogs and grandcats; other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Vandiver; mother, Birdie Bell Vandiver; and his sister, Becky Vandiver Cornelius.

Iver leaves behind a legacy of courage, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. His family and friends will carry his stories, his humor, and his fearless spirit with them always. Those who follow in his footsteps will find that he has left some mighty large shoes to fill.

Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Iver O’Neal Vandiver.
