đź’§ Why deflate a saline implant before surgery?
In some cases, we’ll intentionally deflate a saline implant using a syringe the day before removal.
Because saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater, the fluid can be safely drained — allowing the implant to collapse.
Why do this?
✔️ Makes extraction easier
✔️ Allows removal through a smaller incision
✔️ Reduces unnecessary tissue stretching
✔️ Improves surgical control during removal
By decompressing the implant ahead of time, we can often make the procedure smoother and more efficient.
Sometimes the simplest step makes the biggest difference in precision.
