As we age, our feet need more attention than ever.

Regular visits to a podiatrist become increasingly important, as the risk of foot and ankle issues rises over time. In middle age, it’s essential to monitor changes such as flat feet, high arches, calluses, and thickened toenails — all of which can lead to pain and mobility issues if ignored.

A proactive approach to foot care today can help you stay active and pain-free tomorrow.

Let’s prioritize your foot health and prevent future complications.

Callus vs. Wart — what’s the difference?

Warts are caused by a virus, not pressure. That means they’re contagious and can spread to other areas — including your fingers — especially if there’s a small cut in the skin. What looks like a “callus” may actually be a wart that’s growing beneath the surface.

At Corona Foot & Ankle, we can accurately diagnose the problem and safely treat both calluses and plantar warts — addressing the root cause and relieving pain. Avoid at-home treatments like acid patches or liquid nitrogen and let our specialists help.

Your feet are your wheels — we keep you moving.

Not sure if you have foot or toenail fungus? Here’s what to look for 👣

🦶 Skin fungus (Athlete’s Foot):
Check the bottoms of your feet and between your toes for peeling, scaling, or dry skin. Try applying lotion — if the skin still looks scaly after a minute, it could be a fungal infection.

💅 Toenail fungus:
Remove nail polish for a few days and take a close look. A healthy nail has a clear line between the pink nail bed and the white nail tip. Thickening, discoloration, or changes in the nail shape may signal a fungal infection.

If you notice any of these signs, don’t wait. We can diagnose and treat fungal infections early — before they worsen.

Why should you consider seeing a podiatrist? Because podiatrists complete a minimum of five years of specialized training focused entirely on the lower extremities — the foot and ankle. They’re the true experts in everything from skin and nails to bones, joints, muscles, and tendons.

Whether you're dealing with an injury, chronic pain, or something as simple as an ingrown toenail, your podiatrist at Corona Foot & Ankle is here to provide expert, targeted care.

Remember: Your feet are your wheels — they keep you moving!
