Judge Manuel N. Cantu Jr.
1930-2023
Judge Manuel N Cantu Jr. , age 92, passed away on August 20, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Judge Cantu was born in Woodsboro, Texas. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and then attended Commonwealth College of Sciences in Houston. He also served as the Nueces County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Place 2 during the 1970s.
In 1957, Cantu became a Texas licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer and in 1970 became the Funeral Director in Charge at Cantu Funeral Home in Corpus Christi and Refugio, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Gonzalez Cantu, daughters Rose Diane, Gloria Grace, Mary Christine and Julie Denise Cantu; son, Manuel Arthur Cantu III; sisters Rosa Longoria, Eulalia Sanchez and Delia Lorfing; 16 Grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023 in the Angels of Memory Chapel- Cantu Funeral Home and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Corpus Christi Cathedral. Burial will follow with Military Rights at Seaside Memorial Park .
All services are under the direction of Cantu Funeral Home-Corpus Christi, Texas.
