✨ THE CROSSFIT OPEN IS COMING ✨

If you’ve been hearing the buzz around the gym, here’s the scoop on all thing CrossFit Open!👇

The CrossFit Open is a 3-week, worldwide fitness event starting February 26, 2026 where athletes of all levels complete the same workouts—testing strength, endurance, skills, and grit. It’s one of the biggest celebrations of fitness and community in the world… and YES, it’s for everyone, not just the elite!

📅 How It Works at our Affiliate:
• We’ll complete 26.1, 26.2, and 26.3 every Friday for 3 weeks
26 = 2026, 1 = Week 1
• You can do the workout during regular class OR…
• Join us for Friday Night Lights — think music, lights, cheering, heat schedules, and ALL the vibes!!

26.1 Release = Feb 26th
26.1 Friday Night Lights = Feb 27th
26.2 Release = March 5th
26.2 Friday Night Lights = March 6th
26.3 Release = March 12th
26.3 Friday Night Lights = March 13th

🔥 Why We Do It:

Amber is a full-time working professional and a mom, juggling a schedule that’s busy in every direction. From the moment she stepped into the gym, her drive has been unstoppable. She’s shown incredible strength and dedication, quickly becoming a standout Contender. Get to know Amber below! 👇

🔻 What first motivated you to start your fitness journey at Contender CrossFit? My aunt told me, “If you want to do CrossFit, the best gym to go to is Contender!” I tried one class with her and never left. I wanted something that pushed me past my comfort zone. Contender made me feel strong and confident and what keeps me coming back is the community. Everyone shows up for each other, and that energy makes it impossible not to grow.

🔻 How has Contender CrossFit helped you in your fitness journey or everyday life? It’s made me stronger in every way—physically, mentally, emotionally. The discipline I’ve built here carries into my everyday life. I trust my body more, push through tough moments easier, and I’m proud of who I'm becoming. I even ran a marathon! And because of what I’ve done in the gym, I knew I could conquer all 26 miles.

We’re starting 2026 with a 1-Day Nutrition Event designed to help you build confidence, clarity, and real-life skills for healthier eating — without overwhelm.

What is it?
After a kickoff meeting and nutrition presentation at Contender CrossFit, we’ll head over to HEB on Staples St with Coach Kenzie for an interactive, hands-on experience.

What you’ll do:
• Learn key nutrition basics you can actually apply
• Take a guided grocery store tour with Coach Kenzie
• Complete a 20-minute challenge to build a healthy, well-balanced meal for your household
• Share your meal plan with the group
• Vote anonymously for the top meal — winner gets a special prize!

Afterward, you’ll take your groceries home and prepare the healthy meal you planned for your family.

This event is fun, educational, and the perfect way to start the year with better habits and intentional choices.

CERTIFICATE DAY — Celebrating November's Level Ups! 🌟

Congratulations to all the Contenders who leveled up in November! We are so proud of each of you for hitting your goals and pushing your limits. 💪

At Contender CrossFit, we follow the Level Method programming, a comprehensive fitness system that guides athletes through every stage of proficiency. Levels are color-coded, from beginners to elite athletes, giving tailored workouts and clear progression pathways. ⭐

Each month, we focus on two or three assessments to track progress and aim to surpass our previous achievements. In November, we focused on Upper Body Push and Upper/Lower Endurance assessments. 🤩

Certificate Day happens on the first Tuesday after our assessments, giving us a chance to celebrate every accomplishment. If you leveled up and couldn’t make it to class, please let a coach know so we can make sure you receive your certificate. Every achievement deserves recognition! 😄

As we move into December, remember it’s a transition month — but we aren’t slowing down! Next week, we’ll be introducing new assessments we haven’t done before, giving everyone a fresh challenge and a chance to keep leveling up.

Keep up the amazing work, Contenders! Your progress is proof of your consistency, effort, and determination. Let’s finish the year strong and keep supporting each other as we reach new heights together! 💥
