Kids Get Fit We support the fight against the rise of childhood obesity and diabetes in South Texas. In 2011, the percentage of obese children in Texas was between 15-20%.

Kid’s Get Fit
Kids Get Fit is a community-based program based in Corpus Christi, TX with a mission to promote a healthier lifestyle for at-risk children and their families. Children receive hands-on training with exercise and nutrition from certified experts. The goal of the program is to provide motivational education and counseling in order to implement a successful plan for families to stay healthy together. The prevalence of childhood obesity is rising alarmingly, and this is a national issue. Texas is ranked the 5th most obese state in the country. Due to this epidemic, children face various risks such as diabetes, heart disease, and strokes

The Program Provides:
-Inspiring running events
-New Fitness Activities
- Hands-on Training with exercise & nutrition
- Motivational education & counseling
- Successful plans for families to stay healthy
- Awareness & prevention as the key to achieving our goal for Kids to Get Fit

Programs Offered:
- Working with the Boys & Girls Club of Corpus Christi
- Committing to working with youth and their families
- Fitness Classes
- Zumba
- Yoga
- Kid’s Running Club

We have been approved as a 501 c 3 so we can expand our ability to help improve lives in our community. We are grateful for the support the community has expressed to date and feel confident that approval of our tax exempt status will help us expand the programs to truly make a difference in the coastal bend fight for healthy lifestyles. All proceeds will be reinvested in programs that provide tangible improvement in the physical and mental health of our participants. The program is currently offered through the Boys and Girls Club, but has several additional opportunities that we are currently working on that we hope to be able to announce soon.

We’ll be out at BUS again with the Corpus Christi Downtown Run Club tonight starting at 6 PM selling some CCTX Marathon merchandise! 🎽🧢

We’ve got sweaters, long sleeves, beanies, caps, keychains, tumblers and stickers, but supplies are limited, so swing by our table or just come get some miles in with the Downtown Run Club!
