I’m currently attending a hormone replacement therapy training right now & I’m so fired up about all the things I’ve learned in one single day that all Providers in every specialty needs to attend!

Hormones directly effect every single body system & organ in your body. If one hormone is off it then creates a cascade of other hormonal problems & chronic issues in the body.

If you are suffering from fatigue, brain fog, low libido, hypothyroidism, can’t sleep, hot flashes, mood swings, anxiety, and/or depression (your spouse & kids get on your ever last nerve all the time) you need to -

1. Get on a quality multivitamin daily that includes A, K2, D3, selenium, & iodine
2. Get on a quality probiotic
3. Get your hormones tested & have them reviewed by someone in functional medicine to discuss ā€œoptimalā€ levels. Normal is NOT enough.
4. Get on a nutritional plan tailored to your unique health status. (See me… hint hint)

It doesn’t have to be this way. You don’t need to suffer anymore. Women get brushed off ā€œit’s just part of agingā€¦ā€ YOU deserve better!!!

CALALLEN PRIMARY CARE PRACTICE TO EXPAND CLINIC

Dr. Ron Guevara will provide a 5,000 sq ft facility during national shortage of primary providers

Corpus Christi, TX – (November 24, 2025) Texas Family Wellness Clinic (TFWC), a Family Medicine Solo Practice owned and operated by Ron J Guevara, D.O. plans to move and expand their primary care services in the North Corpus Christi / Calallen Area in early Fall 2026. Dr. Guevara, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, specializing in Family Medicine, who has cared for families in the North Corpus Christi Area for over 26 years plans to begin his expansion of a new clinic early 2026. The new facility will be approximately 5,000 square feet, conveniently located in the center of Calallen at 14702 Northwest Blvd, Ste 105, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.

This positive news comes to the Coastal Bend Area at a critical time when the United States is faced with a massive shortage of specifically primary care providers. According to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), it is estimated that the U.S. will face a shortage of up to 55,200 primary care physicians by 2033.
ā€œThe community is already feeling it and so are we. The amount of calls and patient applications we receive daily to become established with our practice has dramatically increased every year since we first opened in 2020ā€, stated Amie Guevara, Chief Financial Officer for TFWC. ā€œThere were many discussions to delay this project another year or two, but Dr. Guevara was insistent on opening as soon as possible to provide for the Calallen community that is underserved with primary care. He really takes it all to heart.ā€, she added.

The new location will encompass a Medical Clinic, Family Medicine Practice & IV Nutritional Therapy Center. Services include elite annual wellness preventative physicals, functional medicine nutritional counseling, EEG testing, limited and full ultrasound studies, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, registered dietitian consults, allergy testing, gynecological & well woman exams, laboratory & diagnostic testing, as well as minor surgical & dermatology procedures.

Dr. Guevara stated, ā€œMy goal has always been to focus on efficiency with our staff to allow us to see as many patients as possible every day without deviating from the quality of care we offer. We tend to have a backlog of new patient applications due to this national shortage that is also affecting our community, especially individuals that are under 64 years-old and not yet on Medicare.ā€

The care team at TFWC treats the ā€œwhole personā€ rather than just the symptoms & focuses on the body's natural tendency toward healing with an emphasis on prevention. ā€œThe goal is to practice preventative medicine versus reactive medicine, keeping in mind that we can treat disease using standard of care, but also offering alternative or complementary options to do soā€, stated Dr. Guevara.
The new clinic will be open for business Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, closed for lunch from 12 to 1pm. It will have the same feel and layout as the Yorktown Clinic, providing a one-stop-shop with a spacious lobby for patients receiving IV Vitamin Therapy, Primary Care Services, as well as a Wellness Shop with a variety of ā€˜doctor approved’ products available for purchase. Saturday clinic hours at the Northwest Clinic and Yorktown Clinic will alternate throughout the month to provide young working families with the convenience of weekend appointments.
ā€œWe will work diligently to get this expansion project up and running as soon as we can to help serve the families of the North Corpus Christi Area. My advice to everyone during this shortage is to get your application in now to become established with us as a patient before you need us for an urgent issueā€, he added.

TFWC is currently accepting new patients at their two locations: Calallen Clinic, located at 15406 Northwest Blvd, Ste B, Robstown, TX 78380 and Yorktown Clinic, located at 6326 Yorktown Blvd, Ste 8, Corpus Christi, TX 78414. TFWC will begin seeing patients at the new Northwest location in the fall of 2026. Anyone interested in becoming a patient must apply online at www.Texasfamilywellnessclinic.com before scheduling an appointment; walk-ins will not be accepted. Most insurances are accepted.

Weight training is essential to longevity.

I’m not talking about a fancy gym membership… or bulking up. I’m speaking of maintaining core strength & muscle mass. Research is now showing that a skinny person can even be unhealthy under the hood. Looks can be decieving! šŸ˜Ž Your muscle to fat ratio is key to maintaining health & too much fat can lead to all kinds of diseases down the road.

Two times weekly minimum you should be doing some kind of core training ~ light weights, resistance bands or circuit training.

Do you want to be a burden on your family one day? I’m sure not. Being able to walk, get up from sitting & not use a walker or cane is where you are prematurely headed without core training in your routine. Also, core training reduces your risk of dementia according to a book I’m reading with 40+ years of clinical research.

You’re going to lose 10% muscle mass each decade you age, so do the math 😳 & it’s worse on a weightloss medicine. Fat & muscle melt away!

Wanna fix insulin resistance? Core training is your ticket. Muscle cells need & use more glucose to maintain, so as you build muscle your body will burn through more glucose than it used to by the minute! šŸŽ‰ Your rate of glucose metabolism will rise & help lower blood sugars on average, in turn lowering inflammation… it’s all connected!

Pick a muscle group, five exercises & do 3 sets of 15 reps. That’s core training! Do it in ur PJs, favorite warmups & watch your favorite show. šŸ˜ No excuses! Include the kids, grandkids, the pets. We**ie dogs make nice 10 lbs barbells too, fyi 🤪🤩

A growing body of research suggests that high sugar intake is more strongly linked to heart disease risk than previously thought, even independent of cholesterol levels or body weight. Excessive sugar can increase blood pressure and prompt the liver to release harmful fats, which stress the cardiovascular system. Some studies indicate that getting 25% or more of daily calories from added sugar can more than double the risk of heart-related death.

WHY SUGAR POSES A MAJOR RISK TO THE HEART:

šŸ“‘Inflammation: A diet high in sugar can lead to chronic inflammation, which damages blood vessel walls and accelerates atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).

šŸ“‘Blood pressure: High sugar intake can contribute to high blood pressure, a known major risk factor for heart disease.

šŸ“‘Triglycerides: Sugar significantly increases levels of triglycerides, a type of fat in the blood that, at high levels, raises heart disease risk.

šŸ“‘Insulin resistance and diabetes: High sugar consumption can lead to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, which dramatically increases the risk of heart disease.

While high levels of bad cholesterol to remain a critical risk factor, these studies shifted the scientific consensus by highlighting that excessive sugar intake is an equally, if not more potent and direct contributor to cardiovascular mortality.

Statins & Type 2 Diabetes Risk:

Millions of people are prescribed statins to manage their cholesterol, believing it's a straightforward fix for long-term heart health.

But new research reveals this common pharmaceutical solution may be trading one major health risk for another.

A large-scale, nationwide study analyzed over 13,000 individuals to see the real-world, long-term effects of statin use.

The conclusion was alarming: researchers found that statin users had a 38% increased risk of developing new-onset type 2 diabetes compared to those who did not take the drugs.
For those committed to a long, healthy life, this is a powerful warning.

It highlights the serious, disease-causing side effects of pharmaceutical interventions and reinforces the critical importance of addressing the root causes of high cholesterol with natural strategies, rather than relying on a pill that could create an entirely new chronic illness. šŸ©ŗšŸ¬

For those who want to see the science, the study is published in Cardiovascular Diabetology.
