It's Polar Bear season in South Texas! This week kicks off the early registration discount for the Corpus Christi Polar Bear Plunge, returning January 1, 2026 at North Beach. Please note the updated location! The Plunge is returning to its original venue. The downtown location of the past few years is closing for renovation, and with the completion of the new Harbor Bridge, an expanded pedestrian trail, and the reopening of Fajitaville under new ownership, this is the perfect time for North Beach to shine. Congratulations to our fund raising prize winners! The top fund raising team, the Frosted Flakes, raised $970! The top fund raising individual, Abigail Sasin, raised $215 and did this for her Girl Scout service project! They each won prize packages, and donations went to alstdi.

These amazing prize packages, worth a combined $2,300, are going to the top fund raising team and top fund raising individual, respectively, as of 12:15pm January 1! The prizes will be announced by the DJ after everyone is out of the water.
*Donations made by check or cash at the event also count toward the total and might not be reflected immediately on the electronic leaderboard, so if you’re donating in person toward a particular team or individual’s goal, please let our volunteers know. Electronic donations can be made to the individual or team’s effort. All of the funds go to the same place, but it’s great being able to credit and reward some strong fund raising efforts!

The fund raising competition is the only competitive part of this event, as it feeds directly into the goal of raising funds to research a cure for ALS.
