Here are some cons or cautions of using lymphatic drops (like herbal tinctures or supplements marketed to “drain” the lymph system) for post-operative recovery:

⚠️ 1. Can interfere with healing
• Many lymphatic drops contain herbs such as cleavers, echinacea, or burdock, which may stimulate detox or circulation too strongly.
• This can increase swelling or fluid movement before incisions or tissues are ready.

⚠️ 2. Possible interaction with medications
• Herbal drops can interact with pain meds, antibiotics, or blood thinners often prescribed after surgery.
• For example, ginger, ginseng, and turmeric may increase bleeding risk.

⚠️ 3. Unregulated ingredients
• Supplements are not FDA-regulated the same way as medications.
• Potency and purity vary widely between brands—some may contain hidden stimulants or contaminants.

⚠️ 4. Can cause dehydration or electrolyte imbalance
• Some lymphatic drops act as mild diuretics (make you urinate more).
• This can lead to dehydration, which slows tissue healing and increases fatigue

⚠️ 5. May mask symptoms
• Drops that temporarily reduce swelling could make it harder to notice early signs of infection, fluid buildup, or seroma formation.

⚠️ 6. Not a substitute for manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)
• Drops don’t replace the mechanical movement and direction of fluid achieved through professional lymphatic massage, compression, and proper hydration.

Happy healing
