Stability Exercises for Low Back Painππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
If you have low back joint instability, use this progression to regain control.
Hereβs the order:
1. Isometric spine
2. Dynamic hips and shoulders
3. Dynamic spine
4. Loaded dynamic spine
Start with isometric positions and hold for time. This builds endurance and motor control with minimal spinal movement.
Next, keep the spine isometric while adding shoulder and/or hip movement. This introduces a reactive challenge for the spine.
Third, begin to add controlled spinal movement. This is where you start to rebuild true segmental control.
Last, introduce loaded spinal movements in all planes, especially the one that feels most unstable.
