What we are doing in response to the COVID-19...
We want to give you an update on precautions we are taking in regard to the Corona Virus also known as COVID-19. In an effort to protect your loved one, we are following guidance from the CDC and CMS. We have implemented some new policies. We are taking this very seriously. First, we want to offer our condolences to the families that have been affected by this virus. Second, we want to assure everyone that we are doing everything we can to maintain the health and safety of our patients as well as our staff.
Since our business involves us going into people’s homes to provide care, we have started screening our patients prior to each visit with a series of questions pertaining to symptoms related to the Novel Corona Virus. As long as the patient and other members in the home respond with 'no' answers, we will then schedule our visit and continue to provide care. If there is a 'yes' response, we will direct them to contact their primary care physician for guidance.
We are also having every employee, clinical and administrative, record their temperature every day PRIOR to coming to the office or making any contact with anyone in the community.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation with our changes in protocols. Please know that the safety and well-being of your loved one is our number one priority.
It is important that you obtain your information only from reliable sources such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
What you can do to prevent the spread of the virus:
Clean your hands often
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds—especially after you have been in a public place or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
• Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
• Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.
Supplies and Medications
Stock up by keeping basic supplies on hand, however, there is NO need to overstock or "panic" purchase. False information being passed around and social media has played a significant role in this and now many health care facilities and immunocompromised people are going without the supplies they need to properly care for themselves.
How to help the elderly
Please check on members of the community, neighbors and friends without family close by and offer to run their errands and pick up their food and medications.
We can also help the elderly that reside in care homes. Take cards, hand written letters, pictures, games and puzzles. They will gladly be accepted. The facilities have procedures in place to disinfect these items however will gladly accept them to give their patients and residents something to do.
Please feel free to contact our office with any questions or concerns. We are here to help! The health and safety of our patients, staff and community is our #1 concern.
