We do this through our partnerships with The Earnest House LLC and Heavy Kettle Popcorn. During our 7 years of operation, we have alleviated over 80,000 nights of homelessness from our community and have provided countless job opportunities for our clients. Our staff use their lived experience to connect and empathize with our clients to build trusting relationships. Next month marks 10 years of serving our community through The Earnest House and today we were honored with the Small Business of the Year Community Impact Award from Pima County. Over the last decade, Danny and I have been privileged to be the support we wish we would’ve had when we suffered from homelessness and the impact of the criminal injustice system.

We’ve supported countless clients in repairing their lives, finding gainful employment, rebuilding relationships with their families, starting their own businesses and maintaining sobriety. So while today marks a huge achievement for our business, we want to dedicate this award to our hard-working clients… for choosing themselves and putting in the effort to make new and healthy habits. It’s hard work to choose change everyday- and we are so proud to support every person who walks through the doors of The Earnest House.

So thank you to all of our clients for trusting us on your path to recovery and thank you to Pima County for this outstanding recognition of community impact. Cheers to 10 years!

The Earnest House is grateful to receive the Community Engagement & Impact Award on this small business Saturday!

Thank you to Pima County for recognizing this work and to our community who shows up for us, believes in second chances, and helps create safe places to land.

But truly… this award belongs to our residents. They are the ones doing the hard work…choosing change, showing up every day, and writing new chapters for their lives. That’s the real impact.

We’re just grateful to walk beside them.

Hello Friends. We've been facing a small challenge at one of our houses since our dryer broke down a few weeks ago. However, our residents have shown remarkable flexibility by hang drying their clothes, which has been working beautifully until the recent weather change. We're now seeking a helping hand, and we're hoping that one of you might have an extra dryer that you could spare. It doesn't need to be new; it just needs to work, and we'd be incredibly thankful. We're happy to pick it up, and we appreciate your support. Thanks in advance.

Thank you to all who donated to provide a holiday meal to our residents. We are so grateful!

As we gather with loved ones this holiday season, let's remember those spending Thanksgiving away from their families.

We're requesting Kroger gift cards to purchase holiday meal items for our residents. Your generosity will allow us to provide a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal and a sense of belonging for those in our care.

Today, The Earnest House was honored to host Governor Katie Hobbs and her incredible team as they toured our newest transitional home. Thanks to a generous small business loan from Groundswell Capital and the CIC, we’ve been able to expand our mission and open this home, providing support to 17 individuals on their recovery journey. During the visit, our staff had the opportunity to share their personal stories and how our program has positively impacted their lives.

But, this home represents more than just a roof over someone’s head; it has the capacity to alleviate over 6,000 nights of homelessness annually in our community.

Today’s visit highlights the power of investing in local organizations, enabling us to tackle challenges like homelessness and recovery.

🌟 Exciting News from the Earnest House! 🌟

We are thrilled to share our foster animal program at Earnest House in partnership with Pima Animal Care Tucson! 🐶🏡

We designed this program to find loving homes for long-time dog residents from Pima Animal Care. These deserving dogs are given a second chance at life, and our residents at Earnest House benefit immensely too!

By caring for these wonderful dogs, our residents find a renewed sense of purpose, companionship, and joy.

We are especially excited to introduce our latest adoptee, Fawna! Fawna had been at Pima Animal Care for years and, as an often overlooked breed, didn't get the attention she deserved. However, she is an absolute love bug and has quickly become a beloved resident of The Earnest House. 🐾❤️

If you're interested in learning more about this program or Fawna, please don't hesitate to reach out. 🐾

Thanks to Sarah and her generous donation of a w**d eater, residents were able to clean up the property. We don’t have any before pictures but the after is amazing. Thanks again to everyone that has donated and supported us over the last few weeks.

We appreciate everyone’s kind donations getting us to this point. With your support this house has been transformed into a home, but we are still seeking a few remaining items. We are in need of a stackable washer and dryer and a w**d eater to address the overgrowth in our yard caused by recent downpours. With your assistance, we will be able to complete these tasks and achieve a fully functional home.

It takes a very special person to choose to celebrate others on their birthday. I mean, birthdays are usually meant to celebrate yourself, right?

This year, a very dear friend and supporter of The Howe Project chose to hold a birthday fundraiser on our behalf, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her support. She not only raised funds but also brought awareness to the need to support others on their recovery journeys.

Over 95% of individuals who are incarcerated will be released, and of those, 68% will reoffend. This leads to costly effects on our state infrastructures, unsafe communities, and broken families. Supporting individuals on their reentry journeys isn't just a job for some; it's a responsibility for us all.

With that, we’d like to thank Diana Charbonneau for recognizing how impactful community support can be for justice-involved individuals. Your support means so much to us and our clients and has a deeply profound impact on the community we all live in.

Additionally, we'd like to thank everyone who rallied behind Diana to donate either monetarily or by providing a dresser for a resident in one of our homes. Your contributions make a significant impact on the lives of men and women who are working hard to rebuild their lives and take advantage of the second chances they deserve.

Amber Moore Smith, McKensie Garza, Dominic Ortega, Julie Emms, Kimberly Witort, Robert Richey, Kathy Walter Charbonneau, Donna Lannon, Linda Stratton, Joshua Pierre Charbonneau and Irene Coppola. Thank you!
