Ambulance and paramedic companies across New York state are sounding the alarm about proposed Medicaid cuts that could significantly impact ambulance services.

2025 Medicaid rates do not cover 2022 costs. The gap between cost and reimbursement continues to widen, placing our EMS and ambulance service providers in danger. Without immediate action to improve Medicaid reimbursement, New York risks losing critical ambulance capacity. Commercial providers cannot sustain year-over-year deficits when one-third of their workload is underpaid by Medicaid. This is not a matter of profit; it is about keeping ambulances available throughout the state of New York.

This is why the United NY Ambulance Network contracted with Health Management Associates, Inc. (HMA) to conduct an independent study of the costs of delivering ground ambulance services in the state and the adequacy of payment for these critical services. Download the HMA report now!

It was an honor to attend the 2025 EMS Memorial Dedication in Albany today. Five honorees were added to the 125 heros already inducted on the memorial.
