It's Black Maternal Health Week — a time to focus on making pregnancy and early parenthood safer for Black families. This yearly event is led by Black Mamas Matter Alliance (Black Mamas Matter Alliance), a Black woman-led birth justice group.

Black pregnant people face real dangers that come from the systems around them, not from anything they've done wrong. Research shows that having a doula who shares your culture and background can help keep you and your baby safer and healthier.

Getting breastfeeding off to a strong start matters. Doula care can help.

Research shows that parents who give birth with a doula are more likely to initiate breastfeeding.

If you serve birthing patients with Medicaid/OHP in Linn, Benton, Lincoln, Lane, Marion, or Polk counties, your patients may be eligible for FREE, culturally matched doula care through the Community Doula Program.

Have you heard of the pinch test? Don’t let the name confuse you. The pinch test helps you keep your child safe in a car seat. The car seat harness should be snug against the child. If you can pinch a horizontal fold in the webbing at your child’s shoulders, the harness is still too loose.

Your provider mentioned a non-stress test, and now you're Googling it at midnight. 😅 We've got you. An NST is actually one of the more relaxed pregnancy appointments. You rest, the monitor listens to your baby's heartbeat, and the whole thing takes about 20-30 minutes. Get the full breakdown in the blog.

Half of all U.S. families struggle to keep their baby in clean diapers.

Diaper need is more than a supply problem. It's a public health crisis, a mental health crisis, and a cycle that keeps families trapped in poverty.

Did you know diapers are taxed as a "luxury item" in the U.S.? And that one in four parents miss work when they run out?

Our new blog breaks down what diaper need really means for families and what we can do about it.

At the Community Doula Program, our doulas walk alongside families from pregnancy through birth and beyond, making sure parents have not just the support they need, but the basics, like diapers.

Want to help? Every donation to our CDP/OSU Diaper Drive goes directly to families in our community.
