🔔 It’s been one year.

One year since the Division of Blood Disorders staff were placed on administrative leave.

One year without the experts who run critical programs our community relies on.

Since April 1, 2025, these programs—and the people behind them—have not been reinstated.

Now is the time to get involved.

Join us for a national community organizing call to hear updates from partners working to reinstate these essential staff and services.

Period lasting longer than 7–10 days?
Bleeding that won’t stop?
Easy bruising or frequent nosebleeds?
These symptoms aren’t something to ignore, and they could be signs of a bleeding disorder.

On World Hemophilia Day, we’re highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and empowering people to recognize symptoms and seek answers sooner.

💬 Early awareness leads to earlier care.

💙 A century of progress. And we’re not done yet.

This year marks 100 years since Dr. Erik von Willebrand first described von Willebrand disease (vWD)—the most common inherited bleeding disorder.

As we honor this milestone, we’re continuing the conversation at Symposium New Orleans with sessions dedicated to advancing understanding and amplifying patient voices:

🧠 Understanding Your vWD Type: What It Means for You Across the Lifespan
Featuring Nicoletta C. Machin, DO, MS

🗣️ Listening to People with von Willebrand Disease and Their Caregivers
Featuring Sam Bristow, MSc, Co-Founder & CEO of DHT Health

This is where history meets progress—and where our community comes together to learn, connect, and move forward.
