What's in these vials can save your life- it can save the life of a loved one, of a friend, of a child, of a neighbor.

When you get the vaccine, even if you get infected, your likelihood of needing hospitalization and death is dramatically decreased.

By avoiding hospitalization, you avoid taking up a hospital bed for someone who really needs it- not just people who need it from coronavirus, but more importantly for people who need an ICU bed for strokes, heart attacks and traumas.

There are many who don't trust the vaccine, the CDC, the FDA, even their own doctor, but when they can't breathe from coronavirus, all of a sudden they are willing to take any and all experimental treatments to save their lives when it could have been prevented in the first place by just getting the vaccine.

If you won't get it to protect yourself, then please get the vaccine to protect those around you- your family, your friends, your community and to work toward a future without more variants.

There is a lot of misinformation about the vaccine - I urge everyone to get the facts about the safety of the vaccine and the reasons to get it from reputable, scientific sources.

Please be safe and take care- we are all in this together!

Yesterday while grocery shopping, the woman in front of me wished 'Happy Mother's Day!' to the female cashier. I'm sure the woman had only the best intentions but the cashier seemed uncomfortable and was unsure how to respond. Who knows what the cashier's situation was- maybe she was estranged from her child(ren) or never had children. Maybe her own relationship with her mother was strained. Mother's day can be a difficult day for a lot of people for a lot of different reasons.

It made me think about how we define who a 'Mother' is.

Of course in the purest sense, it someone who has given birth. But isn't a mother just a person who provides love, caring, nurturing? There are many people, both male and female, who are in the role of Mother. I think people can also be Mothers to creative ideas, a business, art, animals or whatever their passion is. So with that broad definition, Catalyst Psychiatry wishes everyone

Everyone at Catalyst would like to wish you a very happy holidays!

This holiday may be a difficult one for many due to covid restrictions. We encourage you to reach out to family and friends in safe ways this season. Stay connected as best you can- phone, video, email, text.

Take a moment to think about what you are grateful for this holiday. Also, it's a great time to reflect on how this holiday might be less stressful without the demands of travel and overly packed schedules. Use this year as an example of how you might want to modify next year to decrease holiday stress and create new and better traditions.

Lastly, remember that this holiday is a temporary change and next year will be different!
Take care, be safe.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

For most of us, this year will look a lot different than years past. Different doesn't necessarily need to be a negative thing- we can still express love and gratitude to our friends and family while staying safe. We can call, text, email those we love, share a video chat or video meal while keeping those we love and ourselves healthy.

If you are alone today, it does not mean you have to feel loney- reach out to others! You can connect in safe and fulfilling ways- we are lucky at this time to have the benefit of technology! Use it! Or get involved in a hobby or other activities you enjoy- make this day one that brings YOU joy and peace!

Whatever your situation today, we hope you will take the time to think about what you are grateful for. It doesn't have to be complicated and can simply be having a roof over your head, clean water to drink or food to nourish.

Be Well.
