Join us in welcoming Dr. Arnevik to Wayne County Hospital!

Dr. Ryan Arnevik, DO is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who will be practicing Family Medicine at South Central Iowa Medical Clinic. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Iowa before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. He went on to complete his Family Medicine residency at UnityPoint Health in Bettendorf, Iowa in 2013, and has been board certified since that time. In 2018, Dr. Arnevik also earned an additional certification in Obesity Medicine.

With more than a decade of experience practicing medicine, including over 10 years serving patients in South Central Iowa, Dr. Arnevik enjoys caring for individuals of all ages. He brings extensive experience in chronic disease management and has a passion for helping patients navigate the overwhelming amount of health information available today. His approach centers on prevention, patient education, and personalized treatment plans. Above all, he values building strong patient-physician relationships grounded in trust.

Dr. Arnevik has long-standing ties to Wayne County; his grandfather farmed just east of Cambria, and he has owned a small farm in the area for many years. Since 2006, he has spent much of his free time in the community enjoying outdoor activities, especially hunting with his children. Outside of work, he and his wife, Melissa, enjoy a rural lifestyle and love traveling and spending time outdoors with their three children, ages 18, 16, and 13. They are excited to join the Wayne County Hospital community.

Nathan Lynn Baughman, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, is an Emergency Medicine provider serving patients in our Emergency Department.

Nathan completed his undergraduate nursing degree through Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah, and earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. His clinical training includes work in the Putnam County Memorial Hospital system in Unionville, Missouri, as well as experience in Blessing Pediatric Clinics in Hannibal, Missouri. He has been a registered nurse for 20 years and a Family Nurse Practitioner for 6 years. His master’s-level training also includes a focus on Healthcare Leadership and Management.

Nathan’s clinical interests center on Family Practice and Emergency Medicine, and he is particularly passionate about identifying the underlying causes of illness rather than simply managing symptoms. He follows a patient-centered approach to care, guided by the principle of treating others the way he would want to be treated.

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys spending time working on his farm. A fun fact about him: he has a twin sister.

Welcome to our team, Nathan!

‼️ Edit: Just to clarify for patients who have asked – Amanda is not leaving her current practice. She will continue seeing her patients there full-time. She is joining WCH on an as-needed basis in our ER. We are sorry for the confusion this has caused.

With 26 years of nursing experience and nearly 15 years as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Amanda Wilford brings deep clinical knowledge, steady leadership, and genuine compassion to the Wayne County Hospital Emergency Department.

Amanda began her nursing journey at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, earning her LPN. She went on to complete her BSN at the University of Missouri and later received her graduate degree from Central Missouri University in Warrensburg.

A lifelong Missourian at heart, Amanda has been married for over 25 years and lives on a row crop and cattle farm in North Central Missouri. Together, she and her husband raised two children.

Outside the hospital, Amanda is passionate about traveling. She and her husband love to explore new places through authentic experiences, seeking out the everyday life and culture of the areas they visit rather than the typical tourist paths.

Amanda is also a devoted dog lover. Her blue heeler, Duke, is both a hardworking cattle dog and an entertaining family member. He’s part herder, part Husky comedian who “talks,” tattles, and keeps the whole farm in line.

Welcome to our team, Amanda!
