We were so pleased to gather with members of our Benefit Committee (and local parents). They wanted other families to know about Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital's Pediatric Specialty Center at 500 West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, so they stopped by for a deep dive about our care. ❤❤❤ Thank you to our guests for learning more about how we help local families!

Why does precision medicine matter to you? We’ll let the expert, Dr. Oh, explain: “We now have so many new therapies. Cancer drug development is one of the most active areas in the world, and we understand a lot more about what makes cancer progress and grow, so we’re able to do targeted, focused treatments… . Precision cancer medicine means trying to find the right treatments for the right patient at the right time. About one-third of patients are beneficiaries of this kind of understanding – the genomics of the cancer and getting a targeted treatment. … As cancer treatment becomes more complex, we must move to a space where we can help doctors deliver the best possible care.”

Thank you for supporting medical advances at Greenwich Hospital! Read full interview in our magazine at giving.greenhosp.org. More about Dr. Oh at linkedin.com/in/williamohmd.

We are thrilled to announce that an anonymous supporter intends to recommend a $25 million grant from their Donor Advised Fund toward the new Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich Hospital honoring retired oncologist Dickerman Hollister Jr., MD.

Plans bring the expertise and research of Yale Cancer Center to the hospital’s patients. The new oncology campus allows for additional medical and surgical oncologists, expanded clinical trials and the most advanced cancer therapies available.

Renovations within Greenwich Hospital’s Olive and Thomas J. Watson Pavilion and the Sherman and Gloria H. Cohen Pavilion will make way for next-level cancer care, including:
• Infusion therapy
• Multispecialty clinic
• Radiation oncology
• Breast cancer care
• Inpatient unit

This gift is an inspirational call to action for the entire community. Join us! Every contribution helps us save lives.

Seats filled up and conversations quieted as Robert Blenderman, president of Greenwich Hospital and EVP of Yale New Haven Health, turned to the audience. Invited to address the Retired Men’s Association of Greenwich, he shared his view of the current landscape of health care as well as his vision forward in his presentation, “Rooted in Care, Growing with the Community: Greenwich Hospital’s Journey Ahead.”

Thank you, Retired Men’s Association of Greenwich, for hosting this important conversation about what changes in health care mean in our community.

What does legacy mean to you? For this mother and daughter, it is about giving back to their hometown of Greenwich. The late Harry Keleshian helped shape Greenwich Avenue, and his wife and daughter continue now by helping to shape the future of oncology care by supporting the new Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich Hospital. We are both inspired and deeply grateful!

We recently had the honor of welcoming back a Greenwich Hospital legend: retired and beloved oncologist Dr. Dickerman Hollister Jr.

He stopped by to hear about the exciting plans for the new Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich Hospital. It was an incredibly moving moment as he reflected on the decades he spent caring for patients here and saw the future of cancer care taking shape. His warm response not only affirms the importance of this expansion, but also the importance of community, belonging and compassion.

Thank you, Dr. Hollister! We are building on the strong foundation you helped create.
