By working at a deeper level, I aim to help individuals, couples, and families to develop a more intimate understanding of themselves and their relationships. In addition to completing my Masters from Brandman/Chapman University, I also gained clinical experience at the LGBT Center and have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy , Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Internal Family Systems (Parts-work). Do you ever catch yourself trying to tell others how they should treat you only to find those requests ignored? Being assertive isn’t just about asking for what you need. It’s also about telling yourself what YOU will do if a boundary is crossed (end the conversation, give self permission to not engage, etc). That’s something where you have control!

Too often men (especially gay men) experience an intense pressure to be perfect. Have the perfect job, perfect life, perfect looks etc. This unrealistic standard is over-rated. Let’s redefine what being a “perfect man” means. What do you see as being a “perfect”man of integrity?

It’s easy to compare our worth with the “window dressing” of others. Remember that what is shown is not always as it appears. You have a unique story with personal trials you have had to overcome. You are worthy because you are human!

When it comes to life, we are bound to eventually face difficulties. I truly believe that is it easy to get lost in the fast paced world we live in today. Instead of embracing ourselves as a perfectly imperfect human "being", we get stuck in the cycle of human "doing" while comparing our worth with the achievements of others. My approach to therapy focuses on the person as a whole, not just the "symptoms". I approach each client with genuineness, curiosity, and compassion. Often clients find that I work on a much deeper level by healing both the wounds of the past while also inspiring change in the here and now. We will work together to find your path that will help you reclaim your power and move towards a more grounded foundation within yourself.
My Approach includes a mixture of:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Internal Family Systems (Parts Work)
Experiential Therapy
Inner Child Work
Most importantly, how I work with each client is influenced by your unique needs and goals.
