The fact is most of the new and revolutionary training techniques such as core stabilization and muscle confusion, to name a few, is not new at all. In fact, these techniques have been used for centuries by various martial arts systems to develop the body so that it can perform at the highest level, and avoid injury in the most extreme conditions. Unfortunately, most trainers only take these exercises at face value, and do not fully understand the deeper aspects of these training techniques, making it impossible for them to share the full benefits of the exercise, and in many cases even making them unsafe and/or completely ineffective. The Institute of Martial Science & Fitness (I.M.S.F) trains and certifies people in a training philosophy known as “Martial Fitness” where we put to use the modern science of ancient wisdom. This approach developed by Ty Cannon draws from several martial arts training techniques and philosophies that have proven to be effective for over a thousand years and will be effective a thousand years from now. These techniques and philosophies are combined with today’s modern exercise science, giving each of our trainers a vast number of options for dealing with a client’s individual needs as well as keeping the training fun and interesting.
