With the increasing concern about the recent corona virus, I want to share some thoughts with you.
Number one, the safety and well being of you, your family, and our community is my primary concern. There is a ton of information out right now about the virus, and it’s frankly hard to know the facts from fiction, from everyone involved.
The best that I can see right now is that the virus seems relatively harmless unless a person is immune compromised in some fashion, whether that is for the unfortunate fact that that includes many of the elderly, or a person has other illnesses or chronic conditions, or there are lifestyle issues leading to a lowered immune system. That’s the issue.
I told my daughter a few weeks ago to make sure she had a few weeks of food and water available. She was surprised. I told her it wasn’t the virus that she needed to worry about so much, but the potential for panic that I was seeing.
That is the big problem right now in my opinion. Fear. The fear seems to be being made worse because of news reports, and the idea of getting scary or incomplete or incorrect information leads one to perhaps act as if all the news is correct, just in case. Not bad thinking. But it can lead to incorrect thinking...need I mention the toilet paper apocalypse?
But from what I have been hearing too, most people who do catch the virus don’t know they’ve had it, or recover quickly. If actions need to be taken, it’s to protect those who can’t fight the disease off because of a weakened immune system or other medical complications.
And while it’s frightening to read about people dying from COVID-19…
What you don't hear as much about is that 16,000 people have died and over 280,000 have been hospitalized from the influenza virus (the "regular flu") this season.
This data is not meant to lessen concerns about the corona virus pandemic.
It's meant to put things into perspective about being concerned about protecting yourself from all infections, taking reasonable actions without panicking or putting stress on the health care system.
It’s just a fact that now, or sometime in the future, you will be exposed to the corona virus. I don’t think that is even in question. The real question to ask, is who will you be when you are exposed? A victim or a warrior? Immune warrior if you will :)
Obviously, if you are compromised already - undergoing chemo, have some organ damage, or some other chronic condition, you need to to all you can to avoid encountering the virus as well as doing what you can for yourself.
In the absence of those conditions, you and your family need to do all you can to be an immune warriors. That means doing all that you should, so that you are not living in fear.
What does that look like?
1. Regular chiropractic adjustments
2. Whole food diet
3. Some sort of exercise
4. Emotional/spiritual balance.
5. Some supplements if your diet is not perfect:
High quality Vitamin D (not lanolin)
General supplement
Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbate)
Probiotic
Quality water
Essential oils you like - Oregano, On Guard ect.
