When a rash moves, TCM listens to the Wind.
In acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, a rash that appears, disappears, and migrates from place to place is a classic sign of Wind.
Wind is characterized by movement, sudden onset, and change—exactly what we see in conditions such as urticaria (hives) or itchy, shifting skin eruptions.
From a TCM perspective, this often involves:
• External Wind invading the surface
• Or Internal Wind generated by Blood deficiency or Heat
• The Lungs and Skin being unable to properly disperse and regulate the Wei Qi
Acupuncture works by:
• Expelling Wind
• Regulating the Lung and Liver systems
• Nourishing Blood to prevent Wind from stirring
• Calming itching and restoring balance to the skin
The skin reflects internal harmony. When the Wind settles, the skin follows.
