Sharing for a friend. 🥰

For Matt and My granddaughter (we may have an “FAPE” suit from her being “not asked back to A H.S. Cheer team 2 years ago.
So I would like to expose a situation. If your children (or grandchildren) don’t learn to play with children with special needs at school, maybe you should spend 10 minutes tonight explaining it to them. Because, although they don't currently live with these children at school, they will find them in their lives for sure. In light of recent events regarding the exclusion of a child with autism from attending a school trip and a child with Down Syndrome being expelled from dance class because she couldn't keep up with it, I feel the need to share this. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthday parties. There are special children who want to be part of a team but are not selected because it's more important to win than to include these children. Kids with special needs aren't weird, they just want what everyone wants: to be accepted!
Can I ask a question? Is there anyone willing to copy and paste this post on their wall without sharing it, like I did, for all the special children out there? Please teach your children to be kind to these children! Everyone needs love and kindness.

Hello Creative Chaos Actors. Tomorrow is play practice at 3pm. Right now we are practicing at WOE fairgrounds. Due to weather it might be cold to be outside. I’m looking for an indoor place and will keep you updated.

wearing mismatched socks is a deliberate "syndrome thing" specifically for World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), celebrated annually on March 21 (3/21). The "Lots of Socks" campaign encourages wearing colorful, mismatched socks to represent the unique chromosomes (trisomy 21) of people with Down syndrome and to start conversations about acceptance

How this project got started......

Many years ago my dear friend Monica Venice, (Shown in the clown car centered above) her goal was to be on stage. I took her to an audition at a local theatre. The part she was auditioning for was a disabled women who only said the word “No.” I thought this would be the perfect start for her acting debut. I was shocked that upon arrival I was asked to step out side by the director. “Why would you bring her here and put me in this position?” I was speechless. I was then asked to leave with Monica. This was the first time that I ever witnessed discrimination for someone with a disability. It then began my goal to fulfil Monica’s dream of being on stage! A few years later it finally happened, Monica was casted in Gypsy. Shortly after that she was casted in Willie Wonka. I was stage managing Wonka and brought some of Monica fellow peers to see a dress rehearsal. They were in ahh and so proud of their friend. Then it started..... “Carmen when are you going to get me on stage? Carmen I want to act too!” I realized it wasn’t only Monica’s dream. I shared my story with a few fellow actor/ theatre friends, but got no where. Then one day David Work contacted me and we talked and then a few months later Creative Chaos was born and I had actors with different abilities on stage fulfilling their dreams.
