Most people have heard of a weak pelvic floor.
But almost nobody talks about an OVERACTIVE one. 🧠

Here's the confusing part — they can look
almost identical on the surface:

Both can cause leakage.
Both can affect intimacy.
Both can leave you feeling like something is ""off.""

But an overactive pelvic floor also comes
with these red flags:

→ Pelvic pain
→ Pain with s*x
→ Pain during a pelvic exam or OB-GYN visit
→ Constipation
→ Hemorrhoids

The key difference?

With an underactive floor, you're starting
at a zero and trying to contract.

With an overactive floor, you're already
sitting at an 8 out of 10 — so when
you contract, it barely moves. Not because
you're weak. Because you never relaxed.

This is why self-diagnosing pelvic floor
issues is so hard — and why working with
a specialist changes everything.

MY STORY 🤍

Hi, I’m Dr. Marjorie Bennett, PT, DPT — owner of CORE Rehab & Wellness.

I was born and raised right here in St. Louis (North County!), and from early on I knew I wanted a career centered around helping people. I attended the University of Kansas, where I earned my degree in Sport & Exercise Science and continued on to receive my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from KU Medical Center.

During my time at KU, I was a Division I rower, part of the National Honor Society for Collegiate Scholars, and even helped teach anatomy cadaver labs — experiences that shaped both my discipline and passion for this field.

What truly drives me, though, is people.

I created CORE Rehab & Wellness to do things differently — to make care more personal, more accessible, and centered around YOU. Whether that means flexible scheduling or even bringing physical therapy directly to you, my goal is simple: help you move better, feel stronger, and get back to what matters most in your life.

This isn’t just my career — it’s my purpose. 🤍

If you care for someone with Parkinson's, you've probably witnessed this.

They're walking toward the kitchen. They reach a doorway.
And they just... stop.

Feet planted. Brain willing. Body refusing.

This is called Freezing of Gait — and it affects roughly
half of all people living with Parkinson's disease.
It's not stubbornness. It's not weakness.

It's a misfiring in the basal ganglia — the part of the
brain that initiates and sequences movement — that causes
the motor signal to stall, most often at transitions like
doorways, tight spaces, or when changing direction.

The fall risk in this moment is extremely high.

What most people don't know: It's trainable.

Neurological PT uses something called External Cueing —
visual lines on the floor, rhythmic auditory cues, or
laser pointers — to give the brain an alternative pathway
to initiate movement, bypassing the faulty signal.

We work on this in your home. At YOUR doorways.
On YOUR floors. In the exact spaces where it happens.

Because therapy in a clinic doesn't fix a problem
that lives at home.

Medicare accepted. In-home visits.

If your first 10 steps every morning feel like walking on glass —
this is for you. 👇

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most undertreated chronic conditions
we see. Why? Because most people assume it's just something they
have to ""manage.""

Orthotics. Night splints. Stretching. Cortisone shots that wear off
in 6 weeks.

Here's what's actually happening: The fascia on the bottom of your
foot has micro-tears that NEVER fully healed. The tissue is
degenerating, not inflaming. That's why anti-inflammatories
eventually stop working.

SoftWave targets the root cause:
🔬 Stimulates collagen production in the damaged fascia
🩸 Builds new blood vessels to restore healing circulation
⚡ Recruits stem cells to regenerate tissue

Average treatment plan: 6–8 sessions.
Average result: Significant, lasting pain reduction.

No injections. No surgery. No time off work.
We bring the technology to your home.

If you get headaches regularly — this might be the most important
thing you read today. 👇

Most tension headaches and migraines are NOT a brain problem.
They're a muscle problem.

Specifically: Trigger points in your trapezius, suboccipitals,
SCM, and jaw muscles create ""referred pain"" patterns that travel
directly into your head. Your brain feels it. But the source is
in your neck.

This is why:
❌ Pain medication wears off and the headache returns
❌ Massage helps temporarily but doesn't last
❌ Nothing addresses why it keeps happening

Dry Needling targets these trigger points directly.

When a fine filament needle reaches the trigger point, it causes
something called a Local Twitch Response — a spinal cord reflex
that forces the muscle fiber to physically un-clench.

The result:
✅ Immediate reduction in muscle tension
✅ Restored blood flow to the area
✅ Flushing of the acidic chemical buildup causing pain
✅ Interruption of the referred pain cycle

We're not chasing the headache. We're eliminating the source.

3 Advanced Certified Practitioners.
We come to you.
📞 314-252-0345 | DM ""HEADACHE"" for same-week availability.

This one is for every adult child watching their parent slow down. 👇

Here's a test you can do RIGHT NOW.

Walk beside an older family member and ask them a question —
something that requires a real answer. Watch their feet.

Do they stop walking to respond?

If yes, their fall risk just became very real.

This is called Dual Task Failure — and it's one of the most
reliable predictors of falls in older adults that most families
have never heard of.

Here's the neuroscience: In a healthy brain, walking is automatic.
It runs in the background while the brain handles other things.

But in brains affected by aging, Parkinson's, stroke, or neuropathy,
walking is no longer automatic — it requires conscious attention.
When a second task (like conversation) competes for that attention,
the brain makes a choice: stop moving.

Falling is what happens when it doesn't stop in time.

We train this specific skill in the home — where real distractions
actually exist.

Our Cognitive-Motor Training drills retrain the brain to handle
movement AND thought simultaneously:
🧠 Walking while counting backward
🧠 Stepping over obstacles while answering questions
🧠 Balance challenges with active conversation

Medicare accepted. In-home visits only.

📞 314-252-0345 | DM ""BALANCE"" for availability this week.

If this made you think of someone — share it. It could prevent a fall.
